If you think that homosexuals were accepted as well 70 years ago as they are today then I am not the one with revisionist history. The key word in social media is media. In your grandparents day, that would have been radio and early television. I don't see a lot of openly gay characters on the Dick Van Dyke show or I Love Lucy.
I can't speak for America, but here in the UK, we had famous people like Noel Coward, and numerous actors who were quite obviously "queer as coots" to my grandparents. Some parts of society were offended, and some were not. You might want to read about "the Bloomsbury set".
OTOH, I am now a grandparent (have 4 grandchildren, and the two older ones are teenagers), and some of my friends are gay, but I really hate "I love Lucy" and I have absolutely hated it since the first time I ever saw it.
OK, Its true I have been using BSD for over 30 years... but name any other OS you would actually WANT to use for 30 years?
Or are you a Unity lover?
"If it ain't broke don't fix it" sounds like a very good reason to me. Sure, you can have UnityBuntu - I am not stopping you (although the usability issues might). The reality is that with *BSD, you have to install the software you want. Isnt that just a million time better than having your system bloated with stuff you don't want, and cant even find out what it does (how do you know it isn't written by hackers.ru?). No one is forcing YOU to use *BSD, and I agree OpenBSD is not very user friendly), but some of us what a reliable system that we can use to exploit the benefits of 30 years of learning.
The underlying problem is one of spelling - someone, somewhere misread "prettify" as "putrify" (never blame a conspiracy when stupidity explains the symptoms)
WinCE delivered professional grade suckiness - frequent crashes with data loss, and no upgrades to fix bugs at all. It looked like a scam to me. Professional non-tech people who used it against the advice of IT people (because it was "windows") were horrified at how crap it was, and could not wait to ditch it.
Its simple: if you dont want to support Ford users, only market a product for GM users. Those of us that drive a Mercedes don't want your half baked products anyway!
No! its you that that is not doing it right!. If I have an xPhone, the apps that run on it should comply with the xPhone UI. I don't give a toss If the same app works on a yPhone, or what it looks like when it does.
Hopefully, the UI is implemented in the OS in both cases anyway, and all I have to do is call an API to get/put information to the user.

With a statistical approach like that, he is well set for a long career in politics.
Yes, but at least they are US based, professional, smug assholes. That is something to be proud of!
Does this mean SIri is not a Bollywood starlet? I am very disappointed!
and the credit rating agencies and other data miners with face recognition software.
You might want to Google Mandy RIce-Davis ("He would say that, wouldn't he")
You must be new here.
Get off my lawn!

NOW get of my lawn.
I did - they don't work on my Lenovos.

You betcha
It was not American (NIH)
The best training manual for it was called "Algol68 with fewer tears"
Other than that, it was able to handle parallelism, and most everything else, in a relatively painless manner.
For those who actually LIKE pain, there is always Occam.

Yep - they are worse than the Taliban. Who would have guessed?
I am still using EGA, you insensitive clod!
In other news, "If you sell your soul to the devil, the devil gets your soul".
And yes, I have done 8-bit integer FFTs. Loads of them!

If the cash is available, more slots are created. Money talks...
Your worried? I misread it as R&B dominance. Call me back when Bollywood has anyone to compete with James Brown!
Avoiding deep fried Mars Bars is probably 50% of it (We are talking about Scotland).
OTOH, there are always Rocket Propelled Grenades or ...
Chuck Norris!

It is not paranoia if they are out to get you!
