The Dutch are notorious for not caring about human rights. Did you know that it's illegal to use racist remarks there? Like, if you use the "N" word in public, they can fine you or throw you in jail.

    "Infected with DRM"

Again, I must state that whenever I clean a computer with Adaware/Spybot/AVG/Panda Activescan/CWShredder/ect, I'm now going to have to ask one more thing:

"Have you bought and played any music CDs lately?"

How sad is it that doing something so legal can become associated with other computer slow-downs as spyware/malware/adware. This is what is going to irk the general public, and hopefully get people to look at DRM a bit more closely.

And when I tell them that buying legal music and playing it on their computer can slow it down... People are going to be completely upset and thinking "WTF."

Bacteria make these wonderful little spores, if they know they're SOL for a long time. These spores can survive a helluva long time. For some to survive a few million years wouldn't be surprising.

If you start using electricity from the grid for short range driving, and gasoline only for longer range driving, you're going to open up a lot of possibilities. A small LP or ethanol or hydrogen or who knows what future engine would make their use more economical. Sure, you might not be the most powerful vehicle, but you'll get where you need. Hell, if I got 250mpg, I wouldn't care if I was paying 10 bucks a gallon for fuel. At least if the initial car cost was about the same, that is.

Picture quality has gotten better. You just rely too much on bunny ears. At home, we get TV stations from quite a distance. Columbus, Dayton, Toledo, Fort Wayne, Lima, and even sometimes Detroit and Cleveland.

BTW, I still use Over the air TV. Why? All I do is catch some news, maybe watch a little PBS, and the occaisional NBC/CBS/FOX/ABC/UPN or WB show. Why the hell would I pay 30 bucks a month for something I barely watch?

On another hand, you can't just cut people off like this, and expect them to pay for TV. Too many people depend on it for things like tornado warnings, flood warnings, business/school cancellations, chemical spill disasters, or other Emergency Broadcast Incidents. Oh sure, radio will still be around, but who in the hell listens to radio at home that much?

Why do you assume that RFID is "evil" or unwanted by geeks? I use it at work to track pallets in conveyor lines. You can't imagine how much easier it is to track pallets with parts on them rather than track parts on a rolling conveyor using prox sensors.

Now, DRM is another story. I think that you've simply seen too many RFID articles on /. that link DRM, personal product, or human tracking with RFID. Those are completely unrelated to RFID in general, and are mere uses of the tool.

Overall, I think your opinion is as blindingly focused as those of the MPAA, RIAA, and all the similar organizations that you despise.
