I can't say I know how the bees feel when electricity is applied to them so that they can produce the venom, but I can tell you that it wouldn't be pleasant.
In China and in Vietnam people "harvest" bear gall bladder juice by tying up live bears and inserting a tube into the bears - and that practice is deemed "cruelty to animal".
Should electrocuting bees be considered as cruel, as well?
Sure, Google can always do what they want, but please tell us, the noname folks, whether or not we can download our email from our Gmail account, to our own computer, using POP3 protocol?
Thank you and to anyone who can provide us, the noname folks, the critically needed information !!
The one thing those haters from Westboro Baptist Church is after is notoriety - I mean, nobody with a sound mind would do what they are doing.
By hacking the websites of the Westboro Baptist Church, and by turning this event into a worldwide thing - face it, the news of the hacking of Westboro Baptist Church website has become a sensational news by itself, else/. wouldn't have carried it - what the Anonymous are doing, while still commendable, is to play it into the hands of those haters.
The best way to deal with haters is to ignore them.

There are things that we do not want on earth - NOT IN OUR BACKYARD, anyway - such as nuclear wastes.
If the commercial exploitation of the moon becomes a reality, who is to stop people offering services to pack nuclear / toxic waste into a rocket and shoot it towards the moon?
They don't even have to dug a hole on the moon - they can just crash that rocket into the moon and that's that.
Should we allow commercial exploitation of the moon?
Sending astronauts there to discover new things, to take moon rock back to earth for research, to set up a moon-based telescope or something akin to that is one thing.
Commercializing the moon is another.
Should we allow such endeavor to proceed in the first place?
Instead of sending rovers, NASA could have gotten Komatsu or Caterpillar to build some really useful "built-in-America" stuffs to send to Mars for heavy lifting jobs.
Although it's only 4 trucks at the moment, and the 4 trucks are on "trial runs", nonetheless, it's a start for "Made in China" to make inroads to the BIG EQUIPMENT industry.
China is not the only country where industrial cloak and dagger stuffs happen.
The other countries that I've personally encountered industrial espionage activities includes Japan, Korea, Vietnam, France, Italy, India, Indonesia, Egypt, Turkey, and you will be surprised, I had had similar encounters in Canada, UK, Australia, and also US of A, although not that often.
Copyrights is actually a good thing. But like many other thing, too much a good thing can become bad, very very bad.
As the author of several software packages (some of them I'm the sole programmer, others I'm one of the many contributors) I have to say that copyrights does work, as we get paid for what we did.
But excessive copyrights (and to add insult to injuries) and patents have made the software industry filled with more lawyers than hackers.
Nowadays even an act of open-sourcing a software program you yourself have written may land you in lawsuit - as your source code is listed in the open, patent trolls can actually sue you for "infringement".

Make mirrors, not proxies! You know, routing around confiscated servers is difficult.
That makes it even more important for everyone to chip in !!
No matter it's mirror or proxy it needs a server to host.
If you have a server to spare, or if your server has bandwidth to spare, please consider sharing what you have to host a public proxy and/or mirror.
BTW, does anyone have any more listing of alternative proxies / mirrors?
If my memory still serves me correctly, one of the promise of HTML5 is "Write Once, Runs Anywhere" .
I dunno about you, but as a developer, I still find that "Write Once, Runs Anywhere" promise not-yet-fulfilled
Wonder if this final draft will bring about the final fulfillment of that promise?
RMS is not a destination; he is a journey.
Actually, RMS is the STARTING POINT of (hopefully) a very llooooooooooonngg journey.
For every inferno, there must first be a spark that started it all.
RMS is _that_ spark.

By the time they got the hint, the marketplace would have pulled out the rug out from under their feet ...

Instead of considering that "security hole" a "security hole", consider it as a "feature".
Just root the damn thing and unlock it !!
Can someone kindly place a link that explain "Syberian Post Office"?
Thank you !
Personally I had (past tense) a fb account but I haven't used it for many years.
But my business does have a fb presence - it has its own fb account and in the office a cpu is dedicated for that fb account.
Nothing important is on that dedicated cpu - so all the info fb can obtain from that dedicated machine is the ip (static) and the hw/sw info.
Religion is a disease of the mind,
Diseases came in many forms and severity
Similar to diseases, religions came in many forms and have different levels of severity
That hacker group happened to be from one with the terminal effects - suicide bomber is but one of the many examples
The info I got from the article at http://www.cameralabs.com/PC_Hardware_reviews/Power_supply/Choosing_a_PC_power_supply.shtml is this ---
If your computer consumes X-watts, it's advisable to fit a PSU that can pump out almost 2X the wattage.
There will be a human-made satellite that will engage in a fly-by to asteroid 4179 Toutatis
The satellite is China's Chang'e 2 and it will rendezvous with 4179 Toutatis.
There are two conflicting reports of the rendezvous date -
According to wikipedia the rendezvous date will be 13th December 2012 - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/4179_Toutatis
According to another source - http://www.planetary.org/blogs/emily-lakdawalla/2012/20120614-change-2-toutatis.html - the rendezvous date will fall on 6th, January, 2013.

I think millions would disagree with your assessment.
But why are we comparing Jesus Christ with that drama-queen cum alleged murderer in the first place???
He was ***FOR PEACE***, and, ***FOR REAL***, and he was ***NOT*** taking any mind-altering drugs, at that !!!

Who knows what we might find under Venuvian rock and dirt. We haven't really dug around there yet.
Venuvian plastic garbages?
Venuvian disposable diapers??
I do not own any Nokia shares - and I thank the man upstairs for granting me the wisdom for keeping myself away from Nokia as far as I can.
Back to the main stuff ---
I still do not understand the rationale of Nokia's BoD hiring a M$ mole to run Nokia.
What's so special of that M$ mole in the first place?
I mean, look at Nokia now, versus the Nokia before that M$ mole took over.
Nokia was in a decline - yes, a decline, before the M$ mole was hired.
After that mole took over, Nokia took a nose dive.
No longer a decline, but a nosedive.
For how many quarters already Nokia has posted a loss?
Because of that M$ mole, Nokia has run out of cash - and now, even its HQ building has to be sold to raise some.
Man ...
As I have said - I just do.not.understand !!
I travel all the time, for business.
