    Believe it or not, WE are supposed to be the leaders. Government -- all of it -- is supposed to follow.

    I do understand what you're saying, but then, my friend, the "WE are supposed to be the leaders" thing does not work in the reality.

    Take a look around, my friend - Out of the more than 200 governments in this world, which one is led by the people?

    Even in countries that have/had/had previously succumbed to chaos - Yemen, Afghanistan, Ethiopia, Republic of Congo, for example - the "groups of people" who supposed to be "leading" the countries were/are nothing more than bandits/terrorists.

    The last thing the Muslim Brotherhood wants is "Freedom".

    The one thing that brought the Egyptian government to the free software is that Egypt is facing imminent bankruptcy.

    Egyptian pounds have lost 50% of its value since the uprising, and it's poised to lose even more, thanks to the clueless Muslim Brotherhood on running anything effectively.

    Right now, as we speak, Egyptians are busy changing their Egyptian pounds into foreign currencies because they know that the Egyptian pounds gonna be devalued even more !!

    Even though I am not a member of the Ronald Reagan fan club, I gotta admit this one thing:

    Neither JFK nor Eisenhower nor FDR has brought the USSR to its knees.

    On the other hand, Reagan did - by playing the "space weapon poker" game that bankrupted the former Soviet Union, which in turn, led to its breakup.

    When I say, spend money on space programs, I don't mean spending money exclusively on constellations and/or SLS.

    There are many more meaningful space programs out there and we should invest on some of them (I do understand that we no longer have the mean to do whatever we need, but we _still_ need to do something, don't we??)

    I do support spending the limited amount of resources that we have on things that can advance our country in terms of technology prowess and in knowledge acquisition skills.

    However, what we have today - and I mean, the current POTUS - ain't doing that at all.

    Instead of leading USA to a greater height, Obama is leading USA to nowhere.

    I'm not a Republican nor a Democrat - I'm an independent who is very sick and tired of all the unnecessary politicking that is taking USA to oblivion.

    The president is designed to hold back congress from doing crazy stuff. That's why he has the veto power - and nothing more.

    You mean to say, the role of the POTUS is not being the ***DE FACTO LEADER*** of the USA?

    If the position of the POTUS is designed, as you said, "to hold back congress from doing crazy stuff", how come presidents such as Lincoln, JFK and Reagan managed to lead the United States of America to greater heights?

    Or to put it another way --- Do you, Sir, really understand the true role of the POTUS?

    Fact of the matter is this - instead of being the leader of the citizens of the United States of America, Obama chooses to be a crowd pleaser.

    Instead of concentrate the limited resource available to make America strong - by spending them on R&D and also space programs - Obama opted for spending the money for welfare to feed the crack addicts and those who are too lazy to work

    While the majority of the Pakis are Muslims, the Pakistan population is *NOT* 100% Islamic.

    There are Hindus and Christians living in Pakistan.

    Just because something is viewed as "blaspheme" to _some_ of the Muslims that doesn't mean it is blasphemic to the Hindus or the Christians.

    To ban Internet just because of the "Islamic blaspheme" is to exercise the "Tyranny of the Majority" rule.

    Imagine if America set up a law banning open prayer due to "noise pollution" - that would certainly makes the lives of many Muslims that bit tougher, wouldn't it?

    While I agree that this incident does put Linux on the front pages in part of the Net, I seriously doubt the "look bad" part.

    In fact, imho, this incident will generate more positive than negative for Linux.

    Admins and users that are still sitting on the fence would take note, that Linus just don't take fuck as an excuse - and if anyone dares to fuck up like that fella he will get a public tongue lashing - and the top priority of Linux is to *NOT INTRODUCE ANY USERSPACE BUG*.

    What I find interesting is your need to make the man average and ordinary.

    My point being that the
    BRAIN of the man is not that different from that of the other 99.99999% of the human race.

    And I did say - and I welcome you to re-read what I had said above - that the one thing that differentiate that man from the rest is his WILL (or motivation) that drove him to use his brain to the fullest.

    Does the possibility that some have greater cognitive capacity than others bother you?

    I suspect that you're quite wrong.

    I might be wrong.

    But, what if I am right?

    The man was a mathematical prodigy.

    Mathematical prodigy or any other type of prodigy means nothing, so far as the brain goes.

    The grey matter in between your ears contains similar amount of chemicals as the ones inside the head of those so-called "prodigies".

    I don't think it was a matter of choice at all, but rather some sort of unique wiring

    Unless it is proven that that deceased Indian math genius suffered from some acute type of "savant syndrome", I seriously doubt his brain has any "unique wiring" of any kind.

    My view is that it's more of a "will" - the will to think, to explore, to use as much brain capacity as the brain can provide, without any negative effect.
