This is a good question, this is an unusual situation and people seem somewhat confused as to who has done what.
It was decided years ago that cell phone unlocking was illegal under the DMCA. But, as part of the DMCA, there are reviews done by the Librarian of Congress that grant temporary DMCA exemptions for certain activities. Previously, one of the exemptions that the Librarian had granted was to allow people to unlock phones. Unfortunately, the exemption was not extended this year, so legality defaults to the DMCA. The DMCA says no unlocking without permission.
The primary action the petition is for the White House to ask the Librarian review the decision to end the phone unlocking exemption. If this does not work, then the petition asks the White House to push for a bill that would declare unlocking to be legal.
The problem is that they didn't sell the crop as feed. They *thought* they sold the crop as feed, but they didn't put it in a contract. They only had feed sale rights, but then gave the wholesaler full sale rights. They may have done it on accident, but it could still come back to bite them.
They should have included a step 2b) Farmer A has buyer sign contract that seeds will be sold only as feed, and buyer takes liability for any seed sold for planting. Distribution rights get tricky because you generally aren't just allowed to say, "Well I didn't break the rule, I sold it to someone without telling them and they broke it."
1. My comment had nothing to do with it being ready or not. Only with the likely availability of a technical solution to a problem that may or may not exist.
2. I wasn't answering grandma, I was answering SuperKendall. I don't think most grandmas should be buying an $800 first gen niche targeted PC tablet at all.
Hmmm... that I'm not sure. I don't know if that restriction will be kept for the pro platform. Either way, I've read that on the RT version a registry key be edited to give full access to the SD card, so in the worst case that should still be doable.
New planet, new NPCs, new voice acting lines. To retrofit it to the old planets, they'll need to bring back in voice actors and add dialog branches to already created NPCs.
Those are a couple major players, but they are both top tier tech firms with far from normal data requirements and huge engineering departments. They are outliers when it comes to enterprise sales and shouldn't be used to gauge the market.
So it was a reasonably priced, fairly power tank... Why was it that you didn't you want it? I'm honestly wondering. (lack of cool factor, you didn't think it was going to be the little tank that it was, some feature you still miss it having?)
" While I can recommend a retail price (MSRP) I cannot enforce that price"
Actually, this is done all the time.
" If the brick store's retail price is so high that it discourages people from buying my bricks, I have no recourse."
You could sell directory to customers, or you could sell through a different brick store, or you could sell through multiple brick stores.
Honest question. I don't see any reason why they would, but did those Microsoft patents need to fall under FRAND licensing agreements? There is a notable difference between the two scenarios if one is FRAND and one isn't.
Because they were developed as part of a standard, the patents have to be licensed under terms that are fair, reasonable, and nondiscriminatory(FRAND) terms. Microsoft is claiming that the amount of money they are requiring is not meet the FRAND requirement. And at 2.5% of Surface revenues, Microsoft is probably right.
Umm... Along with free software, Ubuntu sells closed software through their own official app store, the Ubuntu Software Center. They also keep a percentage of the proceeds just like the other app stores.
Why is it okay for Ubunutu to have an official app store, but not okay for Microsoft to have one?
What would you have wasted the time doing instead?
Keep in mind, this was done while they were in quarantine, so they weren't exactly going to be spending that time with their families or hitting up the bar.
Vaccines aren't 100%, therefore, someone with a vaccine has a possibility of catching a disease from a non-vaccinated person.
Also, there is a small but existent percentage of the population that for one reason or another cannot be given certain vaccines(ex. compromised immune system). These people are generally kept safe through herd immunity, but are put at higher risk if people who can get vaccinations refuse to.
Um, no. Why do you think it takes citizenship to get a license? People who move here and are in the process of gaining citizenship? Do you think that everyone here on a work visa is walking or taking taxis? Foreign exchange students?
Heliocentrism and flat Earch are crazy, but I saw a moleman once!
It looked a bit like a regular mole, and everybody else said it was just a regular mole. But I FEEL like it was actually a baby moleman, and those people aren't going to trick me into not going with my gut. Molemen forever.
I'm not entirely sure you understand the difference here. You do realize the auto company interfaces don't have images of fruit stamped into them? Right?
1. The cost of upkeep is built into either the initial or recurring price of a product. There is no recurring cost, so the initial cost to the consumer does matter. Price is one of the factors taken into account by people when factoring in how much service they expect. XP was sold with an end of support date and that date has already been extended. No one purchasing it new should be relying on updates now. Should they still have to provide support for 98? 3.1? DOS?
2. With a quick search I didn't find any information about a recall on 1992 Mazda truck ignitions, so I can't comment on specifics. I will say I haven't heard of government required recalls to decade old vehicles to improve their emissions. Of course a company can support a product for as long as they want, the question is if Microsoft should be legally required to continue support.
3. I dislike most EULAs, sadly, most make it easier to push blame away from the producer, not harder. I don't have a copy of the XP license, but I believe it had disclaimers saying that the installer agreed not to blame Microsoft if their computer was compromised.
4.(out of order) The cyber-harm claim is a bit worrisome. They should have to continue to support the software because criminals could take advantage of the security holes and cause harm? An OS itself simply can't stop everything, and other software can be modified to create trouble as well. So does all popular software need to be supported for free and forever? Stolen cars are used in crimes with some frequency, should Mazda have to upgrade your ignition to use a transponder key to try and make sure that someone malicious doesn't take it and ram it into something?

No, the equivalent would be McDonalds selling a 1/4 pound burger but measuring the weight before cooking.
Surface Pro has a memory card slot.
Nope.

A common theme in the fish world is to be given an ugly name until someone finds a good use for you.(though, generally the use is eating)
slimehead->orange roughy
rockfish->pacific red snapper
dogfish->rock salmon
pilchard->cornish sardine
etc...

Nope, The game is actually just titled '3'. They haven't released any gameplay details yet though.
TF3: The Rise of Pyro
If its the same as Windows7, you touch the icon and hold for a second until a symbol pops up.

I'll just leave this here.
