  5. Personally, I had enough When I was an early adopter of a smart tv that 80% of it's smart features stopped working in about 3 years... I still have the TV, but it is no longer connected to anything but a RPi and previously a Roku... I'm so very very tired of being a product.

    I like this way of thinking... It's a tablet that will replace my phone. The moment I saw it my Lizard Brain said "Must Have", then I saw the price and my Wallet Brain said "Wait a few years...", then my Nerd Brain asked "Can I root it and put Lineage on it?" Doing anything other than talking on the current gens of even Phablets is a pain (Im sporting a V30), they are too large to be easily portable, and too small to be useful. I think that as this type of device progress's it will be very popular.

    - It's Trumps ego and need/desire to be "great" that's driving this
    - It's going to be fiendishly expensive.
    - Being out of the gravity well is the ultimate high ground.

  12. Yeah, stressing over a software deadline to add more whitespace to your app to make it more "appy" 2 weeks before your nearest competitors app does the same thing is stupid. I'm starting to get a bit depressed that literally everything I do in software is ephemeral, and in 3 months - 5 years completely irrelevant. Why should I stress out if some overlord won't get his bonus because he pulled some deadline out os his ass?

    I dunno, I converted to Islam to marry my wife, but I'm probably less religious now that I was when I was technically Christian. I always want to laugh at the 72 virgins thing... I mean have these men ever had to deal with 1 non-virgin women? Take those troubles and multiply by 72 virgins...

    I don't even know how to respond to this one... Half of me wants to agree with you on some points... My father did die of diabetes related issues, he was a type 1 who didn't take care of himself following a stroke. Is it his fault or is it the brain damage... Because a stroke IS brain damage.

    The other half of me wants to call you a full blown retard. The patent was sold for 1 dollar for altruistic reasons. Tell me, where is the altruism today? There is none in the corps involved in pharmaceutical manufacturing today. Corps have these We meet guidelines, feel good, publicity programs. But tell me why they simply don't lower prices on drugs that have been around for 50-60 years? Then you have humanitarians like Martin Shkreli, who seem to represent the whole of the industry.

    Do people not remember the origin of "The Internet"? It started as a Defense Project to ensure communications in the event of a nuclear war... They opened it up to universities, and then to the public. Back then they did a fairly decent job of being hand-off. It wasn't until they turned over to private corps, that it started to go downhill.

    Really? The previous cap was 500K, If you can afford a 750K or more house, I don't think that the benefit of ONLY being able to deduct 750K is going to have much of an effect.

    Did you not sign a lease? Or were you going from month-month? cause if you had a lease your price should have been locked in, unless it had a clause saying that they could do that. If it did, depending on your local laws, it may have been an invalid clause. Did you ever talk to a lawyer about it?

    I am getting more in rent... My ROI is 10 months... basically, for those 30K in improvements which we're pretty much financed same as cash (0%) over 12 months and enabled me to drastically increase my rents. For what those improvements cost me, I basically will spent 10 months just breaking even on them, and starting on month 11, I'll be cash flowing better than what I was before.

    I rented for many years, and was in the position to buy 2 duplexes and a single family house during the recession, I am currently loving life because I'm renting out the duplexes for far more than my mortgage. I do not consider myself a Nazi Landlord at all, and over the summer, I spent about 30K on fixing up my duplexes, because I figure that the people that pay me money deserve the improvements, now my rentals are nicer than my single family, which I live in, with the exception that they have less land.
