I could be completely wrong, but I'm sure they're using ResNet in the same way we do.
"ResNet" is slang for "Resident Network" aka the network that is made available for students living on campus.
As to the answer of your other question. Maybe it's just a problem of the larger institutions. It has been my experience (having several friends who are net ops) at a local small university that they have an immediate network connection termination policy on detection of disimination of copyrighted materials.
Just like if through some quirk of quantum physics Vin Diesel and all his works were to suddenly go out of phase on this plane it would be an okay thing.
I'm equivalent to one of those good friends though my collection of CD's came about with with only about 1/3rd of it being bought.
The trick is to goto a college where they've got a good radio station and get involved as a DJ.
Whenever record companies start pumping a CD they'd send the station 10 or so preview copies for us to play on the air and give away as prizes. (at least that was how it was in the '99 timeframe, things might be different now) Needless to say, I always won a "prize". So, a third of my collection came about that way.
Then 1/3rd of my collection came from my wife (who was also a DJ) and she has different musical tastes so we had little to no overlap.
Though if their comes a time when my '84 reliant is the only car on the road without a black box, I might opt to just install one anyway. Otherwise, if I do get into an accident, It's going to be my subjective explanation vs. their unfeeling dispationate black box. Who do you think they're going to believe?
What a piece of flaming dog shit, it was at that point, I swore off every buying another iomega product.
After the dreaded "click of death" and this being the second time it had been returned for service, it was taken out on back by the dumpster and beaten to death with heavy guage metal brace.
I see your "Mathematics" and I'll raise you a couple hundred top flight mathematicians and a couple billion dollars worth of the best super computers money can buy.
My argument is that it's more efficient to microwave because converting electrical energy into microwaves via a magnetron and having those microwaves act on every single water molecule simulatiously is more efficent than heating up a coil of metal and then having that coil in turn diffuse heat through a pan that then diffuses that heat into the water.
I wonder which uses more energy to boil 2 cups of water, a microwave or an electric stove?
I have a feeling that it's the microwave (since it's heating all the water in the container unformally
So maybe if people used their microwaves more, we'd save some power.
Personally, I think the USA should put some Apollo type money into a system of distributed Thermal Deploymerization (TPD) Plants. I think if we built between 1-4 (depending on the size of the state) of these plants per state, we'd generate enough gas/oil that we wouldn't have to import any. And since all the material would be human waste and organic farm waste plus plastics, rubber, wood & biowaste (antrax, etc) it would be renewable as well.
Well, since you have a slashdot ID, the IRS can find you;-).
When you say no public records, I take that to mean you don't have a SSN either...
I take it you don't have a 401k or any type of long term investments either?
What do you intend todo when it comes time to retire (or your body is so worn out you can't work anymore)?
Also, since you don't have a bank account, do you just keep your money in a shoe box under the bed?
I hate to break this to you, but I'm not going to give you any of my retirement money... I'm also going to vote for people who will enact laws that'll ensure you won't get any public money either. You didn't put anything in, you don't get anything out.
Now, as for a response to your question.
Firstly, I imagine your not living out on the street so you must have an apartment (I'll exclude the living with the folks option) So, your paying rent.
Secondly, This apartment has electricity and running water? How are you paying your utilites. (though I suppose this could be included with your rent)
So, apparently you've got a job somewhere. Is your employer taking out state and federal income tax?
When you wonder what the IRS is going to ask, I can think it'll sound something like this.
1. Where do you work and how much do you make? 2. What is your employer taking out for state/fed income tax? 3. Why haven't you filed state and federal income tax returns?
Your only respite is if you make under their minimum for income (something like 13k). In which case, if your employer is taking out taxes proactively your missing out on getting some returns.
Also remember that your in for some double jeoparty... If either the state or the federal IRS's find you, they're going to notify each other...
Actually, if any past tort law is an indicator, he'll get the beat-down he deserves.
What would really funny is if during the trial the judge was to get spam flooded from the Mr. Richter's company.
This is exactly why my wife and I explicitely don't shop at walmart.
Access Grid
Pretty cool stuff.

Whoa, 4'6", that's tiny!
One of my co-workers was saying that if your under 4'11" you could technically be considered a midget.
However, he does write device drivers for windows, so like his programming, all things are suspect...
You seem to think that a Vin Diesel movie would be better than staring at the seat in front of you?
At least the seat would have plot and that bit of ketchup in the corner could be considered character depth!
Think about your average 5th and 6th grader, not exactly a bastion of common sense. Now, think about handing them a 1350 laptop.
I can only imagine that with in the first day they had 10 kids in the principles office with smashed screens, click-o-death harddrives, etc.
You seem to think that would be a bad thing...
Just like if through some quirk of quantum physics Vin Diesel and all his works were to suddenly go out of phase on this plane it would be an okay thing.

The last 3rd of my collection has been purchased.
The stuff that they painted the Hindenberg with was basically thermite.
Who says it has to scale up that much?
What if the scale up is so you can have something the size of a mini fridge in your cellar that creates energy for just your house?
Plus the reactors created thus far have been to study the principles, not attempt to harness them.
Any production reactor is going to be designed to maximize it's efficency, not maximize the viewability of the reaction.

Is that with or without the easter egg flight simulator?
You too!?!

Why not just build a HERF gun and while the battery is out of the car just light the car up like a christmas tree with it.
What I'd like todo is get my hands on some RFID samples and do nasty things (like fire a HERF gun at one) and see what happens.
Well that and their use of "Cisco" math when it comes to what their switches will push for throughput.
For the same money you'd spend on a Cisco switch you can probably buy a Nortel that'll run circles around the Cisco.
Or, if your tripping over the bags of cash or their just blocking the door, you could spring for a Juniper...
Don't get me wrong, Cisco stuff works, it's just really expensive and their are cheaper more capable equipment on the market...
I see your "Mathematics" and I'll raise you a couple hundred top flight mathematicians and a couple billion dollars worth of the best super computers money can buy.
Doh! Got my twords wisted!
Though it really surprises me that the NSA would actually take responsibility for passing along tips.
Generally they just pass stuff to the other three letter organizations and they take it from there.
So you weren't the only one going "Yeah, stand right there in a big bunch so one bug will take out a squad!"
They might not, but the Air Force would.
Having good hand eye coordination is critical to being a great pilot.

What would be even more shocking would be if you were female!
