Is there any language out there that ports like java and run faster? I am sick of java. There was talk of it being faster when everyone buys faster CPUs. It's obviously not the case, java applets on the majority are still slow today. It's bloated, over rated. Is there any university/lab developing anything better nowadays?
No offense to the Soul Calib fans, but this series is as unoriginal as any other fighting game in the market now.
Namco just need to assemble this SUPER fighting game with every character from Tekken, Soul Calibur. And call it SoulTek. That would be a game of 70 fighters.
IBM needs to bundle Firefox with their xSeries server lines. After that, port it to AIX, and bundle that instead of netscape on all pSeries boxes.
Every IBM customer I have seen, at least ask about Firefox once. IBM is notorious for OEMing every software to the point where all you see is IBM. People wonder if Firefox is hidden under some IBM product name.
I have talked to alot of India folks, and I seriously think they are only limited by their Caste System. Alot of the India folks say it's no longer an issue. But they're just not admitting it.
Government and educational institutions still reserve slots for certain level of the caste systems. A super programmer in a lower caste system is not equal to a super programmer in a higher one. List goes on...
You shouldn't use Apple and Google as a comparison. Both are not superior over their competition. Firefox from the engineering perspective IS technologically superior over IE in every way.
I used to love IE over Netscape. But those days are over. I am shocked by the fact that so many people still defend IE over Firefox.
I wouldn't mind trying this. Except like all instructions, it's not detailed enough. To realistically build one, most people will need the instruction down to every single command to be dummy proof.
8-bit era - Nintendo - good 16-bit era - TurboGrafx16 - no good 32-bit era - 3D0 - no good 64-bit era - Jaguar - no good 128-bit era - Dreamcast - no good Future era - Xbox360 - ???
Notice, systems that release into an older bit usually are a success. Like PS2 released as 32-bit later.
When you get a virus, you need to call some 1-800-microsoft-number. Afterwards, you will provide them home address, name and other personal information. At that point, you will receive a 128 digit Activation key over the phone to install the patch.
Hey how come there is no antivirus software needed on unix platforms?
- Size. Creative Zen Micro is smaller. I think Dell DJ and the new Gateway players are about the same.
- Features. iPod has less than everyone else. No radio, less compatibility with ToGo services.
- Design. Totally opinionated. Creative Zen offers more color than every generation of iPod.
I am confused as to why people think other companies can't deliver on these specs. Apple always had a marketing dominance in the mp3 player sector, not a technological one.
Hey I do that to all my games. My relatives are always so impressed to see my scoreboard of 10 cazillion points in Dxball and all these old tetris games. When they insist in watching me play, I tell them I am only good after free beer.
There is a massive section in my local newspaper on this today. M$ claim by 2006, xbox will have close to 40% of the market, while PS2 will have 50%.
While I own a PS2, I look at games like Forza Racing on the xbox and it's competition like this that we desperately need. Games like Gran Turismo has been sitting at the top for too long.
We should impose a heavy tax to anyone who owns more than 1 house.
We should separate interest rates with a "real estate interest rates". That way we can send that soaring without affecting the rest of the economy.
Like stocks there should be a heavy penalty for selling a house too soon. There are too many realestate people making money from buying and quickly reselling. It destroys the market pricing for the regular joe.
Not so fast! I have been a subscriber of Napster AND Rhapsody service. Today I am still using Rhapsody because 50% of the songs on Napster are marked "BUY-ONLY" even if you have the full subscription. Yahoo is an unknown right now.
Oh.... and I haven't spent a penny on iTunes ever since I joined Rhapsody. So, iTunes is definitely threatened. I am speaking my experience, considering I have always put money where my mouth is.
Games nowadays are not lacking in the design department. They are missing innovation. All it takes is 1 person to innovate. But since we live in a world of lawyers are copyrights, ideas always get lost somewhere.
This ain't propaganda. This is fact. I have talked with alot of Chinese immigrants who lived under Mao. They used to wear red uniforms and worship that dude like god every sunday to saturday.
Years later, with proper info, they found out he was like a Hitler without guns. No western schools would ever waste time teaching this stuff at the highschool level.
US citizens are fighting for all the wrong cause. We should be fighting for LOW real estate cost.
Do you really think you are consuming so much that you'd starve if you make $10,000 less a year due to some foreign worker? Hell no. The real estate market will leave a bigger dent in your wallet than any outsourcing issue.
Ed Wilson. This guy was a genuine American member of the CIA. As planned, he was negotiating with foreign terrorists "undercover" by providing them with a fake supply of U.S provided firearms.
Then the CIA turned the program around, claiming he was NOT undercover. Framed him, and send him to jail for 20 years.
A dozen government agents got their promotion of a life time for screwing this guy over. Many are still serving in the U.S judicial system today.
Any acts or laws that yield to benefiting any intelligence program is danger. The U.S has a disgusting history of it. Who knows how many innocent people are being contained by the Patriot Act.
I had an old/decent Mac, I remember trying PPC linux on it. Easily sum up the experience as Disaster. That's the last time I'd ever try running linux on that hardware.
While China, Japan and other countries praise teachers as a middle-to-highend job. In 2004 US offer an average of $20,000 salary to most teachers in a public school system.
That's lousy given the inflation rate. Look at real estate prices. If you had enough skills to teach C++, java etc... you would have enough skills to do any other programming work for $40,000+.
Hmm... but this is different. The 16 to 32-bit PC transition didn't require you to go out and buy new hardware. Years from now, we might all be forced to use a true 64bit AMD to run anything.
I am just glad somebody is continuing the Tablet trend. I thought about buying one, and not one person ever recommended a Tablet Centrino over a regular labtop. I am at the point where I don't care if SCO wants to revive the Tablet business.

It's like picking a GeoMetro over a Ferrari!!!

These are for starters...
My spam count has gone from "insane" to "alot". I guess we haven't arrested enough.

How can you not be stable when the entire vlan standard is practically locked by cisco. They can QA the hell out of it. It's all their code.

But 1 tiny lawsuit isn't publically visible out of a 100 big lawsuits. M$ is pursuing too many other companies all year round.
Not going to happen!

LOL. The DS to my surprise is getting such weak feedbacks even though it is probably tie with hardware sales with the PSP.
Anyways the region bullshit is too much, I agree. They should have standardized on regular movies, not UMD format either.
