How people who initially disagree with something(The Matrix) that chatises their way of life(Organized Religion) do their best to make it seem their way is actually confirmed through it.
If I had time, I could write a equally definitive argument that the Matrix is about personal spirituality and questioning authority and what other's tell you you're perceiving.
But I guess that's what art's about, and sometimes narrowminded people aren't going to change no matter what you show them.
You can get a lot of people to see a movie if you hype it enough, or people may just see it anyway because they're bored, but it should be noted that just because your film made money, doesn't mean it was good.
I hope filmmakers don't fall into any sort of rut when it comes to filmmaking despite findings like this, because the movies I most remember and enjoy are ones like Momento, because they are so different and force me to think about the world and how I percieve it. Moreover, what people like changes. Certainly most of the 80's movies I liked, I would scoff at nowadays.
Suffice to say, I won't be seeing 2Fast 2Furious or whatever.
They're not spending it on lollipops man. California has a big ass population to take care of, and they need money for education/roads/environment and other social programs which are what make California great.
I'm all for games when it comes to entertainment and having a good time when there's nothigng else to do, but when the Matrix/MMOGs becomes more important than the people in your real life,(including yourself) it will likely lead to depression and isolation.
Did you see the movie 'Patriot' with Mel Gibson. Basically him running around sabotaging and murdering British troops during our revolution. I wonder why no one brings that up... hehe
and I'm going to go back to school.
Otherwise, I might convince myself out of boredom to get a grunt job, which gives me the shivers.

A cashier makes, say 6$ an hour to stand around and cash people out all day, not to mention deal with asshole customers.
When I was working as a cashier, if someone told me to look hard for counterfeits, I'd reply with the finger.
So their boss/company loses some money if the bank doesn't accept a counterfeit that they didn't see. Ces't la vie.
I found a 20$ bill in an ATM with noone around. I left it, since I didn't need the money, but told my friends. The poorest of them went to get it.
If your friend has trouble paying his bills, then it's understandable.
If he makes 20$ an hour, he's an ass.
Send them to me and I'll dispose of them in an environmentally safe way.

The company also has a follow-on to its hugely successful medieval role-playing game EverQuest.
Correction: It's hugely successful medieval chat room game EverQuest.
Instead we get to have animated ewoks...

The people get sick of the same ol' crap, and stop seeing the films.
Microsoft announces that .NET is actually a hoax. All things coded in .NET should disentegrate within hours.

Noone likes taxes, but hating them is foolish.

The two new rovers, which are about the size of a golf cart
They are so having a race!
It should either have just been called Fall of Max Payne or Max Payne II: The Downfall. The redundancy looks horrible...
Somehow I can't drop the feeling that this will be very similar to a spam filter...

Shipping Will not ship.
What kind of service is this?
I, for one, won't accept this logic.
Premise: Things fall to the Earth.
Counter-argument: Clouds don't.
Conclusion: Things don't fall to the Earth.
Unfortunatly for you, I know what John Ashcroft would pick...
Judge Wilson's decision is the first sign of a thaw in the winter that has stopped the technology revolution cold.
;-)
Let's hope that spring and summer aren't skipped a la Monty Python.
No offense to the fans of the game, but the screen shots looked pretty ugly.
I recommend Unreal Tournement (the 2000 version, not 2003) for those with low-tech computers.
Who the hell is this Avril Lavigne?
I have never heard of her, seriously.
From what I read I think that's a good thing.
I better dump my stash in this nearby ravine.
I recommend "Fuck off!"
