Perhaps, but it could be an excellent way for network administrators to secure their networks against this particular type of exploit. Personally though, I would rather see IT departments mandate the use of Mozilla or some other secure browser. The same proxy setup could easily enforce such rules.
That's awfully cynical, even if it is true. However, Google, as a company, is responsible for the conduct of its employees. I would think that both the Orkut and Google could be held liable if the facts are as presented.
Actually, malware is more prevalent in IE because it is easier to compromise, not because it is ubiquitous. Look at the case of IIS. Even though it has a minority market share in web servers, it is still the one most frequently attacked. This is because of two factors: it is easily exploited and there are sufficient numbers of them.
This leads one to conclude that the actual number of installations of Intenet Explorer does not matter to malware authors so long as there is a critical mass of them and enough of those remain vulnerable. So, malware authors will continue to target IE until one of those conditions is no longer met.
One might also note that during President Bush's tenure as governor of Texas (the same period that Clinton was in office) the only place in Texas to see significant growth in the IT industry was Austin. As the largest "university town" in Texas, it has long been the largest bastion of the Democratic Party in Texas.
As I recall, Bush never talked much about technology while he was Governor. It was more oil, drug war, education, and religion. Industry and Power in one hand, God and Children in the other.
Personally, I'm not giving this guy any money because I don't give a damn about the guy, his camera, or how much it cost. I'll donate to something more worthwhile (and I do, too.)
137 legit messages is not so outrageous. Just one active mailing list can generate that many and more. It can also result in attracting more spam, depending on which list it is.
Adobe is a business just like any other. If they think developing a linux port of Photoshop would make money for their investors, then they will develop a linux port. They will not be doing it out of the goodness of their hearts, whether they have one or not.

No, because when the mouse figures out that it doesn't have to press the lever, a different set of neurons fire instead of the ones that fired when the mouse actually pressed the lever. They figured out that the new set of neurons could be used instead of the old set. After a while, the mouse stops generating the old set (pressing the lever) and just issues the new set. The computer reacts to the new set without the presence of the old set.
In effect, the mouse has learned to control the water tube as though it were a new muscle.
The FCC is both a regulation agency and an enforcement agency. While they may push for more lenient rules, they still must enforce the rules as they currently exist. There's no contradiction here.
But the way things work on the ground in rural America is a bit different--but it generally works out okay. If it makes you queasy, move to the city, and you'll be fine. Nevermind the Nazi FUD trolls.
Bullshit. I have a right to walk into any town in America. If my rights get abused by the police there, I'll be just as pissed off as I would in my own home town. Not knowing somebody does not give the cops a right to shake them down. There has to be some evidence that the person has committed a crime, even if it's just loitering, before the person can be detained.
I have heard from friends that Hilton is every bit as flighty and dumb as she looks. Although I have not met Paris in person, I have friends that have. (I live in Houston, as does Paris Hilton)
Ahem, there is a huge difference between an operating system and a pane of glass. There is simply no comparison.

Unless you are talking about Windows.

(are there any? Isn't .swf more or less an open standard?)
It's just a published format, not a standard of any sort. It is ubiquitouse though, which leaves the impression of being a standard.
I'm not convinced they can tell the difference. They certainly have not indicated otherwise.
Hell you say!
Nearly every advance in entertainment technology is directly attributable to porn. I don't know where we'd be without it.
what's the killer app for an interface like this?
Porn. Definitely porn.

Quite right.

Cool hobby though.
If it's Playboy, who's complaining?

Yes, except snot flies out your nose when you do it.
And you may ask yourself "Where is my beautiful arcade?"
