WRONG. I've been fishing exactly where these things are supposed to go in. It is very shallow and there is very good fishing. It was windy and rough the day we were out there but there were still dozens of other people out there fishing too. The biggest problem with Cape Wind's plan though is still that they want to use public land to make private money and then still cause the price of power to rise. It's like private loggers getting to cut down public forrests and getting paid by the public to do it.

  2. Re:From the article on Analyst Doubts Intel's Dual-Core Demo · · Score: 1

The physical constraints created by having two processors separated by centimeters instead of microns does come into play here. Two cores on the same chip can communicate at the chips' clock speed instead of dropping down to a slower bus speed to cover the distances. The statement that a dual CPU system can come close to replicating the performance of a dual-core (single chip) package is really unfounded. There is the possibility of sharing on chip resources although then you get into chache read/write conflicts and limitations. It will be cheaper to have one dual core chip than two single core chips. Intel and AMD are also implimenting new smaller device size processes which will at least in the Intel case allow a dual core chip to be the same size as a single core chip now. So you hopefully will end up with roughly twice the computing power with roughly the same energy disipation. So for justifications I would give performance, cost, and heat/power.

More importantly I never thought water bugs stayed on the surface by "making tiny waves." I've lived near the water (both fresh and salt) all my life and I've known that bugs walked on water by not breaking the surface tension for as long as I can remember being aware of such bugs. I believe it was explained to me using bubbles and the meniscus seen in a glass of water as visuals. Who was confused about this until 1993?

Employees really don't make commision but obviously if they push for more PSP and sell more cables they'll rise in the company much faster. The part about the merch manager isn't really correct (I worked on Merch). Generally the merch team worries about cleaning the shelves and making things neater. I don't think Bestbuy is even a good buy usually but if you want/need something immediately it is often the best choise. Do people really expect to have honest and courteous sales people this day in age? Maybe I just got used to it while working there.

Or do you think 9000+ dead Iraqis is good friendship building?

    So, why not Saudi Arabia?...

This whole paragraph makes my head spin. Why is it unreasonable to ask a congress person if they'd send their kids to die in a war they endorse? That should be what they're thinking when they decide to back a war or not anyway. Saudi Arabia isn't a potential target because of all the money they have invested in US banks and businesses. But lets remember that 14 (of the 19) hijackers from 9/11 were Saudi Arabian. The ideology of Saddam's regime was not congruent with that of Al Queda. He was viewed as not a "real" Muslim by hard line Islamic fundamentalists. It is the kind fundamentalists flourishing in Saudi Arabia which are quite apparently a direct threat.

I think it's obvious that the world economy needs the oil of the mid east but I don't see how pissing off as many middle eastern government as possible (see Israel and war on Iraq) is good foreign policy.

The tribal groups you mention were abused and apposed by Saddam's regime largely because they were so extreme and (just as they are now) refused to live with and accept the ideology of others. So we are (just as the previous regime was) forced to take extreme measure and kills lots of "evil rebels."

I'm sure some real security holes will turn up but the two flaws mentioned in the post are pretty lame. One requires that a user save an attachment, open a command prompt window and drag and drop the file into said window. I help people with their computers over the phone all the time and they have trouble openning a command prompt (run>cmd) and probably wouldn't accept that as a reasonable thing to do with a file they've been emailed. Maybe I'm giving too much or too little credit to most users but the second "flaw" doesn't even have a valid attack vector according to the article. These sound to me like ways someone might screw up a computer if they TRY but they certainly don't seem like OS problems since both would require the user to do some pretty dumb things.
