This. I was able to do the same. So, it's likely the original admins, as indicated in the OP.

BTW - you've been remarkably evenhanded in responding to some pretty snarky, socially-challenged comments. Good on you.

Dear God, Please let this be the scary-good sarcasm I think it is (and, if so, a big "nice one" to the parent). Your supplicant, ac666

OK - I've got to ask: What the hell is the story behind TWO collisions with a "friend's" vehicles - and is he still your friend? ;)

While trying to be a little less mean than your other respondent - the tone of your reply is rather unfortunate. The OP question indicates that they did a fair (unusual?) amount of due diligence for a first-time contributor. How about giving them some credit for that BEFORE you shift into curmudgeon mode - and not assuming in advance that the answers to your questions will be negative?

That's an interesting perspective I hadn't heard before. I wonder how wide-spread that attitude really is in hiring, though. I'd certainly agree with the parent that neglecting GPA is not a good idea.

Now YOU'VE moved the goalposts. His original assertion was that it's very, very, difficult. And, quite frankly, he's right. I don't know if he's quite "Disney movie" right, but the sample size of people who do what he was talking about is VERY small. And what he was talking about is precisely what he re-iterated - moving from a less theoretical, academically rigorous, background to doing something like a Math/Physics/Comp Sci postgraduate degree.

While grammar nazi-ing on someone, it's poor form to blatantly misspell ... unnecessary has 1 c, and two s's. I'll refrain from calling _you_ a twit.

Re the OP's actual request: ncixus.com (i.e. NCIX's US site). Prices should be competitive, and they seem much nicer to deal with than TigerDirect if things go wrong. I've personally done around 30K worth of business with them, and they've never screwed up my order - so my impression of their problem resolution is strictly secondhand. They are also _blazing_ fast at shipping in-stock products.

Fantastic, and one of my all-time favourites. But not for (most) pre-teens. Entirely too bloody, plus no shortage of sex-scenes (at least, they're not graphic ones)

Um, he already did plenty. I'm sure there's room for a follow-up paper along those lines. Quite possibly by someone else - I'd guess you're up to the task, considering how dismissive you were of his efforts?

I'll add one more recommendation - Erikson. Talk about a guy who gets about 5 times more story advancement per page than Jordan, and whose atmosphere and sense of place are unlike anything else you've ever read. If you want to talk epic fantasy right now, it's Martin, Erikson and everybody else. I know RJ (RIP) played an important role in expanding fantasy's audience, but as a writer, he can't hold a candle to either of the aforementioned.
