Fedora is unstable testbed material for RedHat to use folk as guinea pigs, certainly not suitable for corporate use. Fine for personal web server use or perhaps coloc OS for small business that have geeks with time on their hands, if the occasional kinks and hiccups aren't too annoying.
No matter how often this FUD is repeated, it doesn't become true.
One of the main points of Fedora Core 6 Test 2 (released today) was cleaning up dependencies. I don't know if it helps with your particular problem but they are working on the general issue.
Weird, when Redhat changed its desktop oriented distribution to Fedora, I wasn't alienated. Fedora is now better for a desktop user than Redhat ever was. I think it was a good choice that helped the users.
Some people seem to have a problem that there are no more packaged distributions, but why? I can get the same system faster and much cheaper by downloading it.
There is a difference, as with AMD those numbers aren't supposed to be an equivalent to Pentium Mhz. They are meant as a comparison to the original Athlon. An Athlon 64 3000 is about three times the speed of a classic Athlon 1000.
Comparing the speed of Athlon and Pentium CPUs is much to complicated to be put into one number.
The numbers are good for me as an AMD user because I know which speed improvent I will gain when I replace my Athlon 64 3200 with an Athlon 64 X2 4800. I don't like Intels labeling as I simply don't know what to expect when replacing a 2,4 Ghz Pentium 4 with a 2,66 Ghz Core 2 Duo.
Or something else: The Vista Beta is out and is usable for one year. And it is free (as in beer of course). I guess they hope that all the pirates switch to Vista Beta - and thus become the leaders for the migration of the paying customers.
It should be a 1.66 that became mangled in the packaging process. This is why the update to the real 1.67 doesn't work and why the CD check is there. After installing the critical rebuild patch you should be ok.
I think you got the Diamond Edition. There was some bug on that edition that reenabled the CD-check. With the critical rebuilt of the current patch this check should go away.
If that doesn't help, aks in the official forums of the game.
You don't need the CD in the drive since I think 1.66 anymore, so there is no need to look for nocd patches. BTW: The Linux version could always be played without a CD in the drive.
Disarming honest citizens is a good example. As I recall, since this was done in Britain small-scale crime has skyrocketed. So now we need cameras to keep up with crime that didn't exist when the average would-be perp was at least somewhat discouraged by the risk of getting shot in the act.
Or, as he must consider that you got a gun as well, he will just shoot you before taking you wallet...
Seeing that the main focus of the new Gnome included in FC5 was higher speed, it should be better than with FC4. I'm running FC 4 on a P2 300 Notebook with 192MB RAM and will upgrade when the torrent is finished.
The worst thing is that they do not actually look who sent the message but just block the From address. I was blocked from sending to AOL for some time, because some stupid worm used my mail address as fake From address.
Russian gas is mostly used for heating, not for power plants. You cannot heat your home with nuclear power (well you can, but that would be really stupid).
In addition, at least Germany gets all of its Uranium from foreign countries, so that really doesn't help to become independent.
At least in Germany, we would be actually *more* dependend on foreign sources with nuclear power than with other forms of energy as we get 100% of or Uranium from foreign countries.
During the alpha testing, we only support IE6. By our beta, we will support Firefox. We know, we know...if you are a Firefox fanatic and want to tell us off, do it here

So it seems that Firefox will happen sometimes.
Now for a Linux application doing this... would be exactly the programm I've wanted for quite some time now.

What's wrong with xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-1.0.8762?

There are DVD Isos for all supported platforms. At least the torrents for them are there.

Well, FLAC is an open format, so GP said nothing against it.
Support those vendors that support open formats, for example OGG and FLAC.
I think the biggest problem are the NC variants. Those accomplish nothing positive.

Too bad my Modpoints have run out. Your post is the most insightful I read this morning.
No, but it's a big waste of energy to heat your house with electricity.
Russian gas is mostly used for heating, not for power plants. You cannot heat your home with nuclear power (well you can, but that would be really stupid). In addition, at least Germany gets all of its Uranium from foreign countries, so that really doesn't help to become independent.
That's a myth. Modern solar panels reach the break even point in less than five years.

No, it's not. In most countries, a billion is a million millions, not a thousand like in the US.
I thought PHP = People Hate Perl
And it even runs on Linux (being a Java game). But I don't know why anyone would spend 25$ on a Risk clone when there are enough for free...
