  1. new email on Excite Could Go Dark On Friday · · Score: 1

So my @home email wont work after, Whats the uptime on Hotmail like? In all fairness, Shaw did a good job of taking over @home high speed internet, except for the email addresses. I did not notice a change, except for their mass messages telling me that my inbox will forever be silent. I'm guessing that becuase of this there will be a LOT of lost packets out there. Any idea's if this will affect the internet? or just weekly email messages?

  2. thats how the did it! on Mapping Gravity · · Score: 1

Thats how they faked the moon landing. They just went over to India and set up shop. They didnt need any wires pulling up the astronauts up, its was all 'real'. btw, I guess all the stuff i learned in physics 101 needs to be recalculated since the gravity isnt 9.81 anymore.

  4. Lemme guess.. on Cringely On Gates' Free Software Connection · · Score: 1

he also created the apple interface because he drew away their customers and they needed a way to attract users. Maybe Al Gore didnt invent the internet, Gates just created a need for users to exchange information in event of a nuclear war because the soviets were not as 'enlighted' as us. I think its been a long time since someone said," Mr Gates you can't say that!" He could be warming up for "Billion dollar chairmen and chief information archietects say the darnest things!"

  5. 100 gig hard drive on Another Xbox Anatomy Lesson · · Score: 1

thats all i could think of when i saw the standard hard drives in there. 100 gig's. Say that would hold a lot of music.

Then i saw the heatsink and thought overclocking. Overclocking the xbox and changing the components to fit your own needs. Sounds a little open source to me.

  6. whats next? on Douglas Adams' Last Book · · Score: 3, Funny

Will we be seeing half completed movies that directors started?
    oh yea AI.

or half completed software that a developer did not finish.
wait a minute, they dont have to be dead.

Point - its a mistake to publish something that isnt finish. It could have ended up way different that what was recovered on the computer after adams was finished revising it.

That is where the real power would lie. You would radically change the operating system for yourself.
