  1. e.g. Fedora on Is The Linux Desktop In Trouble? (zdnet.com) · · Score: 1

    Look at Fedora, the distro.
They produce upgrades too often while neglecting support on the existing version.
Their choices are poor: a few KBs in scripts are too hard too maintain versus megabytes in coded in C and thus packages are without support.
Also 'supported' packages do not have support: it can take a long time, even until bugzilla closes your bug due your Fedora version being too old, before something happens.

Kids need to be reminded by the authorities, and prosecuted if necessary, to be in school.
The latter does not happen, at least it is not reported in the news I saw.

The idea that we can, in a few years, undo the effects of mankind's activities w.r.t. fossil fuels for over a century is ridiculous.
The idea that this activity plays a great part in 'climate change' aka 'global warming' is debatable: look at the sun.
How much more power does it send in our direction?
Did you count the sun spots?

  6. So I buy a dozen-stop flight around the world at obviously a reduced price.

I paid plenty, the plane is lighter.

  7. The plane for the final leg was lighter due to the passenger not actually flying.
    This saved some fuel.
What is the problem for the airline? (other people accused the pricing system)

  10. Why in the world would one need a checkout-free store at an airport?
Either you prepare accordingly and arrive at the airport with all stuff you need and you just shop to pass some time until your flight is due.
Or you simply run out to the airport and shop for whatever you forgot?
    Which approach would be cheaper?
    Or how do USSAsians fly?

But what about a boombox? Electronic in nature, can receive radio. And does not have to be powered on.
Could be illegal due to this proposed law...

  16. This 'proposal' to do something else is very WEAK indeed.
Anxiety is there to get over.

I myself conquered a slight fear of heights by going paragliding:
