  1. ridiculous on How We'll Get To 54.5 Mpg By 2025 · · Score: 2

    55 miles per gallon = 0.0427662879 l / kilometer says google.
1 liter per 23,382903897 per kilometer is nothing special and is done with normal cars TODAY.
So the goal of doing that by 2025 is quite ridiculous.
See the modern Volkswagens, maybe the Prius (although the hybrid stuff is debatable), etc.
Also do think about diesel instead of 'gas': it is way more easy to have high MPG with diesel.

Windows 2008R2 has loads of bugs, even I (a simple sysadmin) encounter them on a daily basis, despite the R2 and despite the updates and fixes. The MFing OS corrupts it's own files (related to `features` and `roles`) when just applying the fixes after install.
And they only have been busy with a more or less serious Windows since 1993 or so?
And now you want them to implement a simple feature to select a webbrowser to be 100% according to your wishes?
    That ain't gonna happen!

OTOH the sum of the fine will of course be lobbied heavily and is subject to change to the downside.

See the treatment of Bradley Manning, see the stance against Julian. No cases against Bradley yet. Even after this time.

  6. Of course the US `foreignpolicy` is still to be the policeman of the world although the empire is crumbling and they still ignore that they cause the evils themselves for the greater part.
And then they need Harvard to confirm that a dron is a usefull tool.
As would be a B-52, team of commando's, mini-nuke, etc.
So it all looks pretty insulting towards someone with some amount of intelligence.

  7. The war on terror was lost perhaps at 9/11 when they let that happen and used it as an excuse for evil stuff until now.

How well will this work when gas hits $8?
Your cities need to be more compact. As do your cars. See the European and Japanese smaller cars. (small: weight is less than 1.5 metric tons)
    Consider a diesel!

  14. Duh, as if that was a surprise.
Now what do they really think will happen if they would sentence Manning and Assange?
Would their (USA) secrets be more safe due to this?
Nope. Plenty of people that can and will leak.
So it all depends on their (USA) security policy.
Not the theatre stuff we see from DHS, TSA in all types of places but the security policy in IT and on diplomatic levels.

Do we notice that the (C) cartels want this? Not the people?
Same for the so called anti-terror police state laws: no real benefit except for enslaving the people in the fiat money, two party system that paints the outside world as less than what they call themselves.
