Seriously, running Debian Stable happily for months. They release a break for my Firewire, obviously a security update because it's STABLE, then they release a break for my sound, I didn't feel like futzing with drivers and stuff, that's why I stayed on stable. I went to Kubuntu. 8 months later I figured I would try Debian again. Still broke. I don't know what they were thinking, but stable isn't.
Wouldn't filling the gap between the domes with water do the job? I mean water does a great job of stopping radiation anyways and I'm sure there's other inventive things that could be done with that.
If you're infested with a botnet you are doing harm. In short infested computers create attackers and ISPs need to take responsibility for the attackers on their networks. I was more concerned that ISPs have NOT done this until now.
I like playing New Super Mario Bros which only requires me to touch to get the extra inventory item, no stylus needed. I like playing Mario Kart which only uses that screen to make my own custom decal, totally optional. I like playing the Final Fantasy remakes which unfortunately require it for the moden inserted mini games, which fortunately are optional.
As long as they keep producing game that don't require me to grab the stylus I'll keep buying and playing them.
On another note, I love touch games on my phone, but there's a line between my phone and my portable consoles. One is a game system first and not much else. The other is a phone and data device first with game functions, I use them for very different reasons.
Though I'm sure Nintendo is anti-open source given their stance on many issues I understand why Nintendo reacted as they did in this case. The GPL is being violated and they didn't want to be forced to release source code used in that game that might reveal other trade secrets they're trying to keep to themselves. Of course they had to pull the game.
I would love to see the console manufacturers open up a bit more, but from a business perspective you really can't fault them in this case.
I hate to say this, because Nintendo is awesome even if I am getting mildly annoyed at all their gimmicky stuff that is popular with the kiddies. (must be a sign of getting old)
I think Sony would be better off adopting Android than Nintendo.
Hear me out of course:
Sony tries to appeal to adults more than Nintendo does, even though Nintendo captures both and Sony is sort of floundering at the moment. I just see the whole Android interface working better for Sony, especially after using both a DSi and a PSP. Sony already makes phones through their formerly Ericson division, with Android phones available. Sony is better equipped to make a PSP/Phone hybrid than Nintendo is.
On that note I have said on more than one occasion Nintendo is stupid for not 1. Making their own phone/console hybrid or 2. Licensing out their GBA/DS tech to phone manufactures.
Seriously, I could see HTC turning out an awesome DS Slider phone complete with a cartridge port, standard Micro SD slot, android OS merged with DSi functions. (controls and touchscreen always showing, speaker in the middle of the ABXY buttons, mic next to +, top screen slides out)
Of course Nintendo wont do that for piracy/hacking reasons, not like they aren't happening on the native platform as is, but dilution is an issue.
Sony on the other hand has nothing to lose. The PSP-3000 already has most of the requirements to meet the phone challenge, you can already make Skype calls directly on that thing, no extras needed. Make it a little more portable - it is rather large to be a mobile phone, distribute games on Pro-Duo cards (which I hate BTW), so they can work with ALL PSPS models instead of pulling a download only setup. Obviously we don't want a UMD drive on this
You could if you had the park and ride type commutes we have in Houston, local buses, not so much. Sure it was a bit big and bulky, but at least with the thing on you wouldn't see the people staring at you like you were a weirdo.
Also a friend of mine had a game that looked like a pair of binoculars far older than the Virtual Boy. It had a passive back light, meaning it was best played outside or under a lamp. It was from the late 70's or early 80's, it was akin to an LCD game though it was 3D.
I sort of wanted it be able to view it with my speedometer/compass, GPS programs open, of course the My Tracks may be the one to stay open. I'm going to check that one out. I think I found my answer on the mount myself though.
Is there a good Android app out there I can basically hit "start" on and it will track my movement on a map, my speed, and maybe other things that I can then pimp out to a social networking site afterwards? I like to post my bike rides for my friends, since I have an extra bike and I would like to bring them along. Think advertising. I've got an app that does everything but the map and location meant to track workouts, but I want the map dangit!
Also, can anyone recommend a handle-bar mount GPS or mobile phone holder big enough to support my EVO and holds it like the fist of an angry god? Don't want it bouncing off. I'm a BMXer and my particular handlebars are very thick in comparison to most 10-speed ones. Most normal handlebar stuff doesn't fit on mine, but I am up for modding.
No it hasn't. The DMCA is not in the constitution.
You can still challenge the constitutionality of the DMCA on the grounds that it isn't in the constitution in and of itself. Good luck with that of course, but the DMCA still does not have the full power of the constitution.
That thought had crossed my mind.
Well, they broke it while stable, but at least they're stable enough not to fix it.
I wouldn't think a Centrino laptop would be all that hard to keep working.
(Toshiba Tecra A5 - Kubuntu works fine, but I do prefer Debian)
That happened to me.
ON DEBIAN STABLE

have bad power steering pumps and short life torque converters from now on?
(sorry, had to go there, the problems I've had to deal with on my own/families/friends Fords the most)
My votes with you. I ditched my 2nd Gen iPhone for an EVo three months ago.
Had it not been for financial restraints I would have ditched it for a Nexus One much earlier.
Anyone remember the Packard-Bell cases shaped like an inverted "T"?
Yes, and I can't fathom WHY Packard-Bell is no longer sold in the US.....
Oh yeah, that and the fact they sucked otherwise....
Now, to force the removal of my name from old spam list using this.......
The Cosmos Series had a very good explanation of floaters and sinkers and some predators etc... /huh huh huh floaters.
I thought it's what ASUS did to their customized Xandros that really screwed it up.

After he's used it not only has he lost his deposit I don't want it back.
Exactly!
I'm not 100% on-board with the method used in this article, but anything is better than just leaving the crap infested and causing trouble.

You have no idea how hard I looked for a picture of one of those things to share in the parent post but my search terms turned up everything but.
I was starting to think my buddy had one of those ultra-rare fly by night things that was awesome but nobody knew about.
I hate to say this, because Nintendo is awesome even if I am getting mildly annoyed at all their gimmicky stuff that is popular with the kiddies. (must be a sign of getting old)

Of course for that to work, Sony would have to wear pants.

Thank you, I'll be trying that. Love the open source!
That one looks awesome also. I will try this and My Tracks out and be annoying my friends accordingly!

Think I just answered one of my own questions:

I don't have a single pirated PSP game on my hacked PSP. Then again I don't know you.
