@home gave me a 2 month credit about a year ago when I lived in Calgary because I was vocal about my dissatisfaction with the frequent outages (at least twice a day, multiple hours each time, for a period of about three weeks). It didn't change anything about their service, and I doubt that anyone I've been complaining to lately about their Vancouver router always being down lately (which either slows to a crawl, or completely disrupts my connection) have any idea that I've ever had problems with them before...
I could, if my machine was inclined to do fancy things like that... I try to keep what books I can afford for work. Considering I knock off about 2000 pages a week, I don't feel that I can be faulted for 2 to 3 hours of television a week.
Yeah, every Tuesday when I realize I'll be working past 10 I can record West Wing. Same goes for OZ on Friday. Sopranos this fall too, whatever day/time it winds up on...
Basically, I get off work at 10 about 1/2 the time, and I forget about setting the vcr about 1/2 the time on days when I want to see something, so that means that I only see the show 3 in four times, and still miss the first quarter in half of those instances...
The artists are of secondary importance to the marketers and lawyers to a successful product.
1)Get ahold of the latest Billboard top 100 songs. 2)Fire up Napster, and start searching. 3)Listen to said top 100 songs 3)Realise that for most music sold by RIAA labels, that lawyer was _right_ 4)Delete all those files. Wouldn't want to annoy the RIAA anymore than neccessary, now would we?
PETA can suck my meat&cheese fed, animal tested shampoo using, D**K! Seriously, PETA is one of the few activist groups that annoy me. I actually do try to keep my diet towards vegan ideals, but only because I know all the meat and dairy are going to kill me, not because some cow died or suffered to feed me.
I tend to replace it with NodAndGruntAtManager(). If they happen to be saying anything important, you can notice the facial expression shifting, and explain that you were considering a possible solution to the latest code problem that just came to you.
What are using for food? If it replicates, it's a living form of DNA, if it's alive, it can die, which means I've got to feed it at least enough to replace what dies off...
Well DriveCar could probably use some alteration for a lot of people (random alteration's probably going to be an improvement for many), and who in their right mind even has TalkToManager installed?
I think that rule only applies to ambulance chasers who want to get money for their clients who are to stupid to avoid obvious hazards. It doesn't make much sense to sue rich people who can afford lawyers if you're just trying to push around people who want to do something you don't like.
Perfect Dark is fun as hell, and really well designed, but really, its ugly. Sure, compared to many other console games, its pretty good, but lets face it, either you've got a huge screen that allows each player to see what's going on in his corner, making the pixels bloody huge, or you've got a typical 30" or so, in which case you can't see anything because its too small.
Car and Driver type mags do this all the time. They go out of their way to get whatever photos they can of future, _unannounced_ models, and analyze the visible changes...
Does anyone that low still post? I've only ever seen a couple in the 3 digit range, and never seen any in the double digits. Besides that, it's just a slight modification of an old 60's anti-suit comment.
Bah. Local vid store's hire only cretins who thought Godzilla was a great movie (as in Broderick vs. the asexual cgi). I just know I'll get the same blank look I got when Kubrick died if I go looking for his movies at the Rogers. (I couldn't believe this guy. I asked him if they had any kind of promo or display planned, and he just sort of got this dazed look "Kubrick? some actor?" I found it difficult to comprehend such a lack of knowledge in someone who works in a bloody movie store...)
I couldn't see it in the local arthouse theatre, but my local Rogers has it in 9 days, so I expect most people in the NAmerica will be able to get ahold of it on vid about the same time...

He thought enough of the property to negotiate a percentage Now, I'm not sure how you meant this, but I think he thought enough of the saleablility of the property, not neccessarily the quality. (since the two are not related, and usually diametrically opposed)

Kind of the same issue with Patrick Stewart. I never much payed attention when the show was on, but really, all the best stuff was the Picard-centric stuff, and it wasn't mainly better stories being written for the character, it was Stewart really outshining the other actors.
I just can't bring myself to even come close to liking Voyager. I just can't watch it. I wouldn't mind knowing when Season 4 or so DS9 starts up on Space. (I've seen most of the first three, and the later stuff was better anyhow)
Actually, what I really want is television on demand. Instead of the cable company having channels upon channels, they should just have shitloads of shows that can be called up on demand. If I want to watch the new friends, bam, there it is. Simpsons #129, bam, you've got it. Micropayments for what you actually watch (plus a basic monthly fee I suppose), and some free content that is simply ads for new stuff, or for old shows they think you might get into.
except the annoying squeaky laugh. that part's just annoying...

So did I, they were amusing, and were aimed at my fear of stuff that's going to kill me, instead of telling me I'm evil if I do eat animals.
Hmm. I thought that was my point...
Maybe _your_ area's cassettes aren't taxed, but mine are...

I can live with that rating. Some mod's seem to favour -1 for effort as well as -1 for effect though...

Can I change my mind?
Well, unless you're some manner of zealot, I shouldn't think that hardware modifications should be neccessary to accomplish this fine goal...
Note to mods with no sense of humour: it might not strike you as funny, but that's the goal here...

No, no, no... Hamill's not Skywalker, he's Skywalker ripoffs in various Wing-Commander type stuff...
