I love this bit from the microsoft ngscb pagen
"Data can be protected with a secure pathway from the keyboard through the computer to the monitor screen, preventing it from being secretly intercepted or spied on"
Yeah like this is a major security problem with current day computing. I've always wondered if my information is secure between my keyboard and the monitor:)
The installation howto for LIDS says that you can turn it off by appending security=0 as a kernel parameter in your boot loader. This seems silly since they go to a lot of trouble to ensure that even the root user can't kill its processess and stuff. What is stopping the root user from just editing the boot loader conf and rebooting with these parameters.
I disagree with him, between couterstrike and neverwinter nights I haven't any time to contribute to open source projects. Daaaaammmmnnnn you Transgaming and Bioware.
DFS is just replication. DFS works in a number of ways in simplest form you could use rsync to achieve the same thing. Combination of NFS and RSYNC could be used to achieve its more complex form.
Yeah, Apache 1.3 is very good at this. mod_proxy does caching very well in 1.3 however in 2 they have separated the caching to mod_cache. This module is still experimental so best to stick with 1.3 for now. I use apache as a reverse proxy for all the web sites at my organisation its the only way you can feel safe with IIS:).
Someone mod this idiot down - recommend flamebait

Freeking microsoft monkey.
I could write a whole essay here stating the Linux over MS$ case but it you shouldn't argue with idiots just makes you look silly.
I am a contractor for a state government in Australia and that is the managements thoughts on open source software. They don't think anything is good if you can't pay for it.
First they say that they have found the end of the universe and that one day it may pull back on itself and implode (rubber band effect) Then they say the universe actually folds around in an endless loop. Then they say there are parallel universes. Just wait another couple of years someone will disprove this.
If there are more than one universe does that mean we are a multiverse.
On another note god help us if there are more than one microsoft in this multiverse.
When neverwinter nights first came out I couldn't help myself. I installed Windows 2000 and played until my eyes were sore. I felt dirty and am repentent. But now I don't want to play it anymore and its on Linux. Makes me wanna cry
This guy is a microsoft lover. They haven't done anything new to their interface since Windows 95. ooooo they just got themes in Win XP and won't be getting multiple desktops until Longhorn comes out. Sure agree that beos was a step in the right direction and sad to see it go. Don't dis KDE and Gnome!
I kep all my Pr0n on an unmounted filesystem so the girlfriend can't find it when she uses the computer :)
What about users that create emails offline and then dial in and send them all.
It looks like JFS is the shit. EXT3 not so good.

Do you usually sit at home by yourself "role playing"? Wierd
Beats me why China want more than one IP Address. Everything is behind a router anyways.

Anyone got a mirror of the client?
I've heard you can run it under wine but can't be bothered messing with it.

This is by far the best Linux Media Player out. Plays all my pr0n :)
Maybe these guys should spend some money on some bandwidth and a decent server.
