    I think Lacie is also researching the use of carbon nanotubes as interconnects for future mass storage devices. The nanotubes are used to replace the pins in sucha way that we can have ultra-wide busses. you can also use bucky balls as the mechanism for information storage, see here. this technology should be here by Q3 2004. I'm looking forward to it!

    ummm.. theoretically a quantum computer can have any number of qubits. we should draw the line between conventional computer architecture and "quantum computers", since the latter has hardly evolved to anything resembling a practical architecture. it will be some time before this becomes relevant.
