So they were all fined a combined 402 million. They made that, and then some so it's a cost of doing business. Corporate fines are laughable... they factor it in these days.
Okay.. then where is their market share? Yeah... they have mp3 players down but that's it. Last time I checked, there were more Wintel machines There is a 'report' that says Android surpassed them... I think the writing is on the wall.... they have been eclipsed.
Safer? How? Shoe bomber... underwear dude... the recent SUV failure? So much for the TSA... homeland security and all other billion dollar agencies created.
All it did was make ordinary people more aware..... After the 9/11 attack... I don't think any plane will be hijacked and flown into a building as easily as before. They have a new problem: the passengers. I don't think we need these agencies when we have an aware public.
They want to be told what to do. That is why people buy Apple shit... because their friends told them to. The Adobe vs. Apple war... meh.
In the end the user wants to play his Facebook games and Apple says 'you can't on My iPhone or iPad' and they say 'okay' and play on their computer instead. Do they ditch the iPhone or iPad? Nope..... They go buy another one! When the general public actually decides to grow a pair things will change. Whether it's the government or a corporation.... all they do is herd people and separate them from their money. This is just a war over MONEY and who gets control over more of it.
Yes I know that prior art is not a slam dunk defense but with all of the prior art regarding 'multi-touch' I can't understand how these companies managed to get it patented. It seems that everyone has patented the idea except for the people that had it first! And it appears that it was not Apple, Google, HTC, or even these guys....
I should patent something random and start to sue people myself, obviously someone is making money doing it.
Some of us carry smartphones to increase productivity, not play video games on a 4 inch screen. If grand theft auto on your phone is a selling point... god help us all. If you want to play games, buy one of those portable game widget things that Nintendo or Sony sells.
Not to mention the 10,000 that turn your iPhone into a flashlight. We only have 84 (as of this writing) on Android market... aww shucks... I am really missing out on the other 9,000 flashlight apps.
Some of these things they claim to 'invent' I have seen long before they got patents on them. Considering Apple is a new player on the field they should really keep their mouth shut... they are fooling with companies that have 10,15 and 20 years on the playing field.
Now I have to hear the apple drones tell me that I am holding a 'stolen' invention (my Nexus one) I did wonder why Google enabled the multi-touch thing (I don't use it) Is it because they know the patent is bunk and were hoping to get sued?
You do realize that they did nothing to these suppliers? Do you also realize that Dick Durbin is all over them about this right now, hence the audit?
It has been almost 4 years since they started this 'code of conduct' BS. Yet the violations continue..... think about that for a minute. They audit, it gets Durbin off of them.. he is happy.
Business goes on as usual.... what has Apple actually DONE here but make some baseless threats, the same ones they made back in 2006.
READ. i said they got CAUGHT 3 years ago. So what if they admitted it this time..... what are they going to do about it? They released this same code of conduct 3 years ago and they are STILL doing it...
I am biased because these bastards repeat the same nonsense over and over.. 'we did something... we did something...' Yet it continues. The audit was done to keep Dick Durbin off their asses, he is sniffing pretty close.
Did they not get caught doing this same crap, and sing the same tune a few years back? I seem to remember this from 2 or 3 years ago... same tune... do it again and we won't do business with you. Apple is full of hot air... who will make their Chinese overpriced computers for them if they don't use these suppliers?
Writing up a blurb saying you have something is one thing.... show us some proof, numbers,... something other than a claim that you have something. I am sure Google went over performance and if it could be made to perform better it would have been done. (I Hope... Google?) I can say I have a million dollars, does not mean I do.
I would argue against that because in their early days this sort of behavior would not be allowed, period. This is the behavior they bucked up against.. they wanted tinkerers and innovators. Now, they want your hard earned cash, and they want to nickel and dime it out of you.
So, I do believe that Apple started with the best intentions.... they got greedy just like anyone else will when you start to give them fast, expensive cars, mansions, swimming pools full of women, etc.
I think Steve just wants to be the next Bill Gates, tbh.
'WinTel components are a commodity. Apple hardware and the Apple OSes are not commodity.' Last time I checked Apple was *tel also. So, yeah.... where is the special hardware there? What is in a dell I have laying around here is also in that shiny Mac as well.
One problem with the Apple sandbox is that they rip people off on hardware. The second problem is they ripped Microsoft for doing EXACTLY what they are doing now. Pot... Kettle.. Black?
I don't see this guy mentioning that his application was a finalist in a developer challenge as such. If anything it makes it stand out...
Gee, how did Apple find out in the sea of 5,000 applications that turn your phone into a flashlight? They probably search for 'android' and snuff the mention of it out.
It is their store.... they can do what they want and for that reason I don't buy from it. I have seen tons of apps on the android store that mention iPhone or the fact that the same application was written for it. We don't see Google snuffing those out.... This Apple has worms in it.
Troll much? There are 500 apps on the apple store that do the same thing. It's not as bad on the android market but anything you can find on the apple store I can probably find something that does the same thing on the android market.
Oh.. let's see I already did this with someone I know, matching apps on the apple store with the android market.... aww shucks. For all of his paid for apps I found free ones to boot....
I don't care for the multitouch thing..... I liked the old way and will use the old way.. As far as 3G it's much more stable on 3G and on EDGE as well. I only get EDGE at home because I am at the end of 3G coverage and EDGE is actually much faster than it was. So, whatever they changed in the radio firmware improved both. Everything seems to move a little faster as well, so no complaints. I got my OTA update last night.

I think the writing is on the wall.... they have been eclipsed.
Really.
If they want to control what users do in their walled garden, let them.
Flash sucks... hell acrobat reader sucks too.
I don't care for either Apple or Adobe personally.
But neither should control what I have on my phone.
Safer? How?
Shoe bomber... underwear dude... the recent SUV failure?
So much for the TSA... homeland security and all other billion dollar agencies created.

The terrorists attacked a way of life, and won.
Does anyone think for a minute they will update the BIOS on a board when they can sell you a new one?
They want to be told what to do.
That is why people buy Apple shit... because their friends told them to.

Haha... what industry do you work in?
Try again Mr. perfect.
You do realize that they did nothing to these suppliers?
Do you also realize that Dick Durbin is all over them about this right now, hence the audit?

Yeah... same bullshit 3 years ago...

Did they not get caught doing this same crap, and sing the same tune a few years back?

Ya.. Apple is really going to do something about it this time for sure... mmhmmm.....
They won't like this one bit and go to great lengths to disallow or prevent it from working.

Why thank you!
But I did not buy an iWidget.. I guess you have a few of them?

Ask Google. :)
However, check this out if you can't wait...

I did not do this and do not endorse it.... but I don't see why it would not work and a lot of people are reporting that it does work.
