however, these displays are not popular anyhow. some of the most popular displays still cant display native, but they are still can display either XGA or SXGA with no proble (were getting pretty close to hd at this point)
dont buy a cheap projector, and you wont get a cheap display. you get what you pay for.

why does anyone care what they think about politics? why are they involved in politics? this is scary stuff..... I can see 10 years from now... 'the united states of microsoft'

perhaps its just because im not the type to use the 'gui' approach to things, not that its a bad thing.
it either didnt have drivers for hardware that we needed to function, or had quirks with those drivers, or needed special treatment.
HOWEVER, that being said i installed it on a plain machine... and the installation was flawless.
I dont like yast, it was good for getting things to work, but I ended up in a console with a text editor editing configs anyhow. the cups and samba portions in yast are just completely barebones. the built-in kde conguration tool is far more powerful with regards to samba configuration than yast is.
I dont hate suse, it just didnt fit our needs, and upgrades failed way too easily. these machines we need, they are critical. I could not have a machine fail after an upgrade. after several of these failed upgrades i said enough is enough and switched the suse machines out with gentoo machines.
so, that why I switched it out. it needs some more polishing, but granted some of my own personal preferences were trampled by it and thats part of it, for sure.
I will try it again in the future, I keep my eyes on most ditros, except for micro$oft linux. (redhat) but between debian and gentoo and upgrading, I think its a tie. both do it very well, and with very little pain. suse left me hanging more than once with a trashed system. either it didnt boot or it was really b0rked.

I work in the elctronics industry, and in the last year I have seen a tow fold increase in the number of sets with cablecard capability. I think its a good thing.
I have seen samsung, sony, and thompson (RCA,GE, ect) with cablecard slots for the pcmcia card.
so, will this derail production of set with this integrated capability? ive seen a lot of sets, and a lot of sets that arrive that customers actually lease cablecards from the cable co. here (time warner)
so, I wonder if the number of sets with cablecard that I see for repair will come to a halt in the near future or what? seems like its heading down the path to being nuked altogether.
but, I cant understand why the FCC has delayed this? the cable cos is still going to charge you to lease that pcmcia card, and its still going to be the same amount. now if there were rules that placed a cap on that, I am even more for it.

altho, most that ive seen ahve the IR filter directly attached to the CCD. you would remove the CCD, then remove the 'piece of glass' from it.
some cameras achieve this effect differently, I have not quite worked out how they work. For example, Sony camcorders that have 'nightshot' also have an IR filter, but I suspect its something different. the switch not only engages some IR illuminators, but does something in the lens block itself. (switches something in/out mechanically) I know that the IR filter at the CCD remains there, its in a fixed position.
I am now curious and have to dissasemble a sony lens block to see:)
I used to work on cameras, and I have removed the IR filters on cameras before for a bit of fun.
