Time to hook up.
its too bad that cable companies say its a
'theft of service' (AT&T) to use more than 1 computer on your cable modem.
im sure this will raise more issues on wireless community networks.
i cant wait to get one set up:)
here it is:

it just seems like this is typical of AT&T
they want it, so they will try to get it cheap, then cut the users loose.
looks like the victim is once again, the consumer.
i personally dont think that excite@home has the balls to shut the network down.
not only will they kill any possibility of coming out of this, but noone will ever use the service again.
its now 3:17 ET
and i dont see any of my pals on IRC going anywhere, anytime soon.
then again... i would be suprised if there is a 'red button' in the CEO's office that is used in the event of a shutdown.
dont expect all @home users to just... dissapear at once. gradually maybee.
better send that spam, snatch that pr0n and leech those mp3's off kazaa while you have the chance.

tomorrow, when i check my mail i will have 3x the spam, because all of the spammers are going to rush to send that last chunk of spam out before the shutdown.
this console looks well made. i would buy one of these over an xbox anyday, not to mention its not an M$ product.. be careful.. we will wake up one day reading the Microsoft times, turning on our televisions to watch Microsoft run television, and our kids will grow up in a microsoft controlled world.
my first console as a kid was the original Nintendo, and I awed at playing mario bros. and duck hunt (yeah, lame)
if you like consoles, buy a gamecube, because it is a console.. not a glorified computer.
if you want a microsoft world, by all means buy an xbox.
i like consoles, and i like gaming.. but i will stick to my preference, FPS games.
its been cool looking at the guts of this console, even if the webserver has been DDOS'd by us slashdotters.:)
we should be leary of that xbox... it might assimilate you in your sleep.
so, protect your kids and yourself and buy a gamecube.
we were discussing this on irc (irc.justirc.net)
and many of our users say down to the xbox, and long live nintendo
now here is my question, to the actual owners of this hardware..
does it boot from the cd, like playstations do?
or does this load an os from a rom?
if it does boot from a disk, why couldnt someone hack up a loader and start it up using ppc linux?:)
im sure this is already in the works.
