Opera has to be the browser with the most buttons! Have you ever seen a more complicated user interface? A new user gets like a 100 different choices on the first startup.
The bad thing Opera has done is abandoning the desktop browser for the sake of the mobile browser. They had a great desktop product, but they put all their resources into the small screen product, and let Mozilla Firefox take over the throne as the fastest browser.
I actualy got into a talk with one of the Opera guys, and he told me the reason for them not to create a small and efficent browser like Firefox, is that they dont want any more customers on the Desktop. They only create additional support requests, and dont make them any money.
Microsoft also promises that the game will feature glossy graphics on par with the Gran Turismo series.
On par with Gran Turisimo? I have played the beta of nr 4, and the graphics cant compere with Project Gotham Racing 2. GT doesnt have that great graphics (its a PS2 game...)
The best driving game in the history of men, is Street Rod! http://www.classicpcgames.com/?p=game&ei=Str eet+Ro d
If Microsoft could blend this great game with good graphics! wheew!!
I was looking through the patent application pdf at (http://www.dagsavisen.no/innenriks/apor/2003/06/7 39300.shtml)
On page2. Isnt that a gnome and KDE screendump? You can clearly see the foot and the KDE logo in the right bottom corner.
How is it possible to file a patent on someone elses technology, and use a picture of their product to describe it?
I use Salvare. It is great, and is loaded with apt, so you never miss any software. Its made for credit card sized CDs, so I am always carring one in my wallet.
http://salvare.sourceforge.net/
Salvare is: "Salvare (from the Latin "to rescue") is a small Linux distribution designed for small, credit-card sized CDs which typically hold around 34MB. More Linux than tomsrtbt but less than Knoppix, it aims to provide a useful workstation as well as a rescue disk."
I have an old Dell inspiron 7000 laptop running at 300Mhz.
- Instead of Gnome/KDE i use blackbox
- Instead of Mozilla, I use Opera
- Instead of StarOffice i use abiWord
And my system work great! Thats the nice thing with Linux, you can always choose. I think its right that KDE/Gnome work after Moors law (2x CPU in 18 month) , and if you kant keep up, use old versions or other software.
What are we going to have to do to convince "ordinary users" to visit ubuntulinux.org once in a while?
Or
What are we going to have to do to convince "ordinary users" to visit apple.com once in a while?
Astronauts on drugs! As if those ppl weren't high enough already!
Actually it's a race to the BUTTON!

You dont have this problem with free software
I actualy think this one:
The Koran
and this one:
Bible
is much better when it comes to windows revovery and security
Nice! Now I can drink a bottle of wine and a 6pack of beer, and get drunk the healty way!
Take that! Doc!
Have they adobted the KDE release cycle?
uggh...
Ofcource we are stupid!
99% of us are using Windows!
GNU/Linux is available, but we are using Windows!!!
You dont have to be a rocket scientist to see that PC users are stupid...
I am paying for this product, and when thiese guys finally release a new version, you guys /. the server :(
(I am only paying because I want to play Anarchy Online in Linux, but they will never support it anyway, so I dont know why I bother...)
its a dupe :)

Its not a bug, its a feature
How could you compare this products?
Have you tried to install Openoffice, Mozilla and WinXP filemanager on your laptop? Good luck!
I can recomend Opera 6.x, abiword and gentoo (the filemanager). Then your laptop will really shine!
Or if you are really crazy for speed.. "links -g", gvim/latex and gentoo!

Copy/Paste in Gnome 2.4 is broken
This is the patent in PDF: http://www.pat2pdf.com/cgi-bin/patent_pdf.cgi?pat
But they do use a Gnome and KDE screendump to illustrate the patent on page 2.

Is this the first time a #channel is slashdotted?
Windows NT didnt support FAT32, only FAT16. Or did they add FAT32 support in a service pack?
1.a. Alpha version in Q2, 2002 Q2 is spring, spring ends 31 june. Then they got 2 days to make the distro. This thing got to be great! :)
