I think the reason minors aren't allowed to vote is due to the fact that they don't much have the capacity to understand the ramifications of who they vote for.
Then they shouldn't be forced to pay taxes, or in some cases be fully responsible for their actions in a court of law.
If it cost so much, why do other countries get the same drugs more cheaply? I don't think that the pharmaceutical companies are doing Canada and Europe any favors.
Yes. The data will be available to everyone especially other Stanford researchers to develop and patent drugs and treatments and sell them back to us at extraordinary profit, while you don't even get a coupon for a free day's stay in the hospital.
The folding at home people might have created this for all the right reasons, but in the end it will be used to extort money from us. This is the way our medical system works.
Yeah, maybe they got some free publicity from making it possible to join Folding@home, but do you honestly believe that that's a negative thing?
People will use the information gained by folding@home to make billions of dollars. The idea that this is some sort of charity is a sham. This is scientific research that will eventually be patented, hoarded, and sold back to you at tremendous profit. You could at least get your expenses paid for.
Unemployment is down but the jobs people are taking pay less. People are less secure in their positions and more and more companies are not offering health insurance. The economic recovery is a myth perpetrated by government officials that only offer the convenient statistics. Debt is higher, pay is lower, and the number of uninsured is growing.
You ask me, women are fleeing IT because they're SMARTER.
Let's be honest. It is much more socially acceptable for women to "choose family over work" or simply be dependent on family for sustenance. They have more freedom to turn down a job that they don't like. With the state of the economy in this country, men are more desperate for work, and therefore have less leverage to change the shitty conditions they work in.
If Nintendo were not making a good number of Wii, you would be right. The fact is that the Wii is selling faster than any other console in the past 2 generations, and they did not stagger the release. The 360 was still out of stock at this time last year and they sold far fewer.
360 is still has, by leaps and bounds, a far larger installed base than any of the other next-gen consoles. Discounting the Wii (which services a different market entirely), the 360 is selling like hotcakes in comparison to the other major competing next-gen console.
As long as you don't include its toughest competition, the XBOX 360 is doing batshit-awesome!
It looks great on paper, really great, but I don't think people are going to spend 2-300 dollars on a video game. Games with one unique peripheral have trouble catching on.
If people didn't want the Wii controller, why the hell would they buy the Wii? Wii Sports is a hit. Wii Sports is driving sales. Wii Sports is controlled almost entirely with motion control unique to the Wii Remote.
People want the controller, because it and only it can play Wii Sports. I personally think the pointing aspect of the Wii Remote will be the real gem of the system. I can't wait to see it sell when that is used effectively.
As a disclaimer I am a PA fanboy. But how you got that there is nothing worth buying from that trailer, I have no idea. It was just a few clips of character animations, no gameplay at all.
I don't know. Maybe that's exactly why he feels there is nothing worth buying. I like PA, but games made from comics, cartoons, and movies have a bad track record. PA does get overly self indulgent at times (Cardboard Tube Samurai), and that title does not inspire confidence that the game will feature the quick wit of most comics rather than the self-importance of the news posts.
I think it could be good, but I also think it could be awful. I haven't seen anything good yet.
This is especially troubling during what some are calling the warmest US winter in years.
This is EXACTLY what hurts any real discussion. A warm year or an active tropical season and everyone runs around like the end is nigh. People need to get a fucking grip.
If this is a problem let's solve it. I don't know how we can, because we can't stop burning shit, but let's try to minimize what we think is causing it. If we are wrong, or if we can't ultimately stop burning enough, let's prepare for climate change as well. This is what sane people do.
No one is playing fair, and there is far more rhetoric than threat.

Such a rosy outlook. Bill O'Rielly was wrong. The Stockholm Syndrome is real.
No, I think the drug companies are spending too much on payola for doctors, television advertisements, and lobbying for patent extensions.
If it cost so much, why do other countries get the same drugs more cheaply? I don't think that the pharmaceutical companies are doing Canada and Europe any favors.

If you want to be honest about it, that tag will work for any Broadway musical.

My statistics differ from your statistics.
The Wii has sold more than 6 million, and Microsoft has been stuffing the retail channel with 360s to inflate "sales" (shipped) numbers to meet projections.
Wikipedia is not a valid source for things like this.

We need to reduce emissions and prepare for climate change.
Settlers, in the world of modern board games, is a very quick game and it is engaging. More so than Monopoly, Scrabble, or most of the classics.
maybe I'm too skeptical. I really hope it does well. I really hope I can afford it when it comes out.
I was commenting on the assertion that people did not want the Wii controller. They do.
People might not want motion sensing in a 360 controller, but they do want the Wii controller.
But a retail nightmare.
It looks great on paper, really great, but I don't think people are going to spend 2-300 dollars on a video game. Games with one unique peripheral have trouble catching on.
This may be a huge flop.

The question the grandparent poses is not "Should there be a Clean Air Act?" It is "Does Congress have the power to make a Clean Air Act?"
If you shoo questions about abuses of power under the rug when you agree with the outcome, you will be bit in the ass when you don't.
reminding Gamestop how many other retailers would love to have some extra inventory.
That wasn't envy. I was counting your dead pixels.
They did, they are. Do you really think they don't want people to buy their systems?
The PS3 is built better than the 360? That isn't saying much.
