With few, if any, games fully supporting DX9, is DX10 a bit of overkill? I'm all for the advancment of technology, but it looks like the cart is coming before the horse, and dragging the horse with it.
I think we're missing the point here. Taken from the article: "Council advises the President of the United States on the
security of information systems for critical infrastructure supporting
other sectors of the economy, including banking and finance,
transportation, energy, manufacturing, and emergency government
services."
They aren't trying to control cyberspace, or take away your privacy. (just yet....)What they are trying to do, however, is secure networks critical to the national infrastructure(ie banking systems, etc). Easy fellas......
Because the enemy of your enemy is your friend. AT&T and Time Warner dosen't like TiVO. TiVO, presumably being a business and wanting to corner the market, dosen't like competition. By intoducing their own PVRs, the cable companies can hope to get a share of the market, eventually hoping to control the market and use it to suit their own agenda.
Noting comes for free. Presumably, they are Amazon Affiliates to get a cut off a sold book. You don't get anything for free. Perhaps an opportune time to do the Barnes and Noble thing?
Yes, why don't you read the web pages...it says that the list below "is simply a list of all the programs that were nominated for inclusion in this." Nominated. That dosen't mean that it was on the CD......
Nothing to see here, move along.....
You mean like this?

Sattelite Internet? You'd be somewhat hard pressed to find that for PCs, let alone Macs. Sattelite internet is just not a viable option, not since DSL and Cable are relativly cheap, anyone can buy an ethernet card for whatever they run, wether it be Win, Mac, or *nix. You can wish in one hand and s*it in the other......I think you know the rest.
In a unrelated story, North Korea will still be running MS Windows as dictated by their leader, Kim Dae Gates, or "Bill" as he is affectionatley known by the loving people of his communist country...
Yes, this has been old news for awhile. If you're looking for P2P sharing then go for something like Morpheus. What they did was wrong, but it could have been worse, such as if they tracked what you downloaded i.e. bomb manuals, next thing you know you're getting a visit from Uncle Sam...
This could be a good thing, like being able to find that episode of SNL where Burt Renolds changed his name to Turd Fegurson that you've always wanted to see again. Next thing you know, they'll come out with copy-protected tv's, you'll be SSH'ing into you're t.v., and big brother will be watching what shows you watch just to make sure you're not a terrorist.....jeez I love this country....
It's called Everquest.......
It's offical, Netcraft confirms Net BSD's logo is dying
You must be new here. This is Slashdot, where nobody reads the story before they post, because everyone has ADHD....
Ah I misssed that, thanks for the heads up

In the grand scheme of things, does it matter? It was a joke, sorry to make you spill your tea and get your panties in a knot.....

All this disruption for a campaign that killed five people? RTFM.
Acually, ZDnet is sure in .NET won, Florida's votes haven't came it yet......
Well, at least it wasn't another leaked email....
