"Dinner still has to be cooked. OK, it's very easy because this system automatically sends the cooking data to the network microwave oven. "
Don't we see this shit every decade or so? That sounds like a commercial from the 70s for those new fangled robots... When I can afford this junk I'll be interested.
It will have to tie into the new sidebar (update?) and will probably link to gmail accounts - which means that it could be BETA only? In any regard, I'm excited for it, pending its real.
Alright... every xmas break from school I spend a few days (probably around 10 hours) playing the newest GTA. For the couple weeks after I noticed the urge when driving to just pull the handbreak and do 180s... all the time.
This is news. I haven't even read it, but here at UofM we don't get to have any sort of router in the dorms (inc wireless). Something about newbs putting junk on the network and ruining things.

With people selling their shares only for a premium in ANY ipo, it's a mathematical certainty that a runup on the first day is completely inevitable regardless of the process used to doll them out. This is because those who sell shares will not do so on the first day unless a nice premium is paid, and there were many investors out there that wanted a piece of the ipo. Google was successful in that the IPO did not product catastrophic price raises (50%+) that others have seen.

I've been thinking about the new DS for a long time and haven't thought of many gaming methods to take advantage of the dual screen. Alright, this is off-topic.. Anyway - the donkey kong mario racer game that the last pic showed had your location on the track... big deal... the next innovation for them should be making the gamboy thinner with a larger screen, not fatter with two.
How long after the stock goes public will the general population be able to purchase some? What's the game plan for these people - is Google worth the buy?
They are working in the wrong direction. It's not about copy protection anymore - the niche market that the ipod hit is no longer a niche market. The name of the game over the next few years will be make a store with music you can easily put on anything, take anywhere. I predict Apple makes their flavor of CP open.
This story isn't that interesting... In any regard the graph does spark some thought. What accounts for the explosion of new words in the 30's/40's (pun sort of intended). I would have guessed the 20's would have been a more popular time.
The whole IBM premium pricing for "compelling innovations" is pretty interesting. Why would they keep the price for so high for so long - was someone else purchasing the drives for another procuct?
Hitachi is probably profiting nicely from this.. It's too bad they don't have CFlash cards that are big and cheap yet, seems that's far down the road.
hell? Why do I have to scroll bloody 1/2 down the page before I get past all the "funny" replies? Slash needs a filter for funny vs. 'pertinent' dammit, or perhaps something where a funny post isn't worth as much as one that goes into the details of the topic at hand...
