Pay for the best insurance I can get, live in a1500 sq ft house I am fixing up, trying to refund my retirement as I had to dip into it during the recession, disabled spouse, trying to have 1 year of take home in savings, buying the best insurance (medical, dental, long-term disability, short-term disability and vision), etc. I seems to add up quickly.
But you are unusual. Most people I know would be hard pressed to come up w/ 20%.
My argument concerning space colonization not to colonize but to seed. Send problem with organic self replicating material, like prions, that then can evolve into life. If we ever want a genetic legacy outside of this solar system short of inventing warp drive, which is highly unlikely, our best bet is to seed the universe with organics based on Terran DNA by firing huge numbers of small capsules at "Goldilocks" planets.
That's an insane plan. Only rich people have 20% disposable income. I am almost in the 1% and I don't have anywhere near 20% disposable income. I would have to drop all insurance, sell my vehicles, turn off the water heater, cut off my internet, cut off my cell phone, and stop funding my retirement. Most people would end up behind on their rent or mortgage and get kicked out.
Dumping the Compaq crap. Now they need to dump off EDS as services is dying as well (for many companies, not just HP). They are slowly and quietly putting a knife to services as we speak.
You forgot the reinforced frame version for carrier landings, the snub nosed version with noise suppression for use in subs, the spaghetti sauce resistant version for use in mess halls, and the ever popular chrome plated honor guard version.
Does it fragment on impact like the 5.56? How about body armour penetration and penetration of glass windshields and car bodies? From what i was told the 5.56 was a bit small to stop car and truck suicide bombers due to lack of penetration.
A truck is a tool. As is a drag line and explosives. I have also seen front end loaders, side dumps, and D8 Cats in underground mines. Are people using that equipment not miners?
Actually I have. I have seen women recruited for industrial electrical work, driving big as trucks in open pit mines, and running equipment underground. Or launched into space using liquid oxygen and or HME.
Are you assuming there are no women and minorities who are interested? Or who might be interested if it were presented in the correct manner (which does not imply easier).
Nature is cruel. If we want some sort of legacy to survive we have to take that risk. Or we just die with our solar system. Those are our choices.
How is it any less moral and ethical than colonization?
"Sure wish that they would spread the wealth around a bit more though."
That sounds pretty socialist for a libertarian.

It isn't theft if you get something in return.
So if the gov't office were properly funded to the tune of $8 more we would get better service.
I think Mexico City is safe from storm surge. If it isn't neither is the SW US.

"So anything that would reduce the number of tickets is a bad thing"
I had a similar experience at IBM where tickets were really desirable. But so were quick fixes.
I don't speak English I speak American. So stop kvetching, chill man and grab a taco or perogie at a drive through. Until then, hasta la vista.
You for got to yell about "English".
"reinventing the wheel because you want to make money supporting and customizing it"
Fixed that for you.
There's no such thing as a free market, or a Free Market either.
To fix it I will only charge another $3499. Lather, rinse, repeat.

1.9 trillion USD.

Yes it does. In an open pit mine.
That's not the only thing they lie about. ;)
Yep. Women and minorities work for lower pay.
