AOL/Time Warner is a media empire, not a mere cable internet provider. The figures you spout off here are covering much more than thier internet revenues. It does not state it specifically but perhaps other ventures of thiers are doing well, and thier cable internet venture is doing lousy.
if you actually read the article you would see that it says the service pack will HIDE msn messenger, ie, and media player if you wish. it says nothing of REMOVING them.
Actually a wireless monitor (wireless in the sense that there is no cable going from the video card to the monitor) would actually not be that hard to accomplish. I have seen some pirate NES portables that actually broadcast thier signal using RF to tv's. It wouldbe against FCC regulations, but very technically doable today.
only communication between the modification software and actual components would be encrypted. the signals sent between the components during operation would not need to be encrypted. just the protocol in wich modifications are made.
nvidia cards work just fine in linux without drivers for the most part. it is the 3d acceleration that nvidia's drivers enable over simply using the frame buffer.
they are preventing the wrong kind of piracy. sure, it will prevent the piracy of content that was originally intended for divx, or officially released divx, but they are missing the target. this will be cracked within a matter of days, and besides that, it does nothing to prevent copies of television shows or movies that were independantly decoded from getting out on the net.
no one has stopped to think that this can be done on ANY browser.
you take a web page. it then opens up the real site inside of a popup with all the navigation buttons gone, and makes it's own that function using javascript like javascript:history(-1) for the back button, and so on...
it would work on ie, netscape, mozilla, konq, opera, etc... only lynx is safe
remember, the oompa oompa people never said how it works. it could be something this simple.
what about once thriving, but now defunct software? what happens when it simpl ceases to function, and there is no new version to upgrade to because the project has been abandoned, or bought out by a large company and turned proprietary? I can just see tons of NuSphere's coming in trying to buy up all the open source projects that are about to expire, just so when you have to upgrade, you also have to pay them a stinking $299
She has hired an attorney who plans to sue the company in an effort to get warning labels put on the games.

Crack doesn't come with a warning label, but the buyers know what they re getting into. why should this game or any other be any different?

ADS has been inundated with inquiries from teenagers and other technophiles who are impatient to get the device.
And we all know how concerned with accurate medical records teenagers can be...

pr0n on the bus!
As the U.S. evolved rapidly from an industrial to a data-based economy, much of the world hasn't come along, or doesn't want to.
The world is comprised of much more than just the mideast and the USA. Most nations are the same or even further advanced than the US.
another reason billg can claim that a web browser is an integral part of the OS.
