It's based on the Ultrabook standard put forth by Intel, Lenovo doesn't get a lot of say on some of those missing features. If you dont like it, dont buy an Ultrabook. They do still make other notebooks, including the T430S which has track-pad buttons etc and should be very familiar to Thinkpad fans.
Granted, they can be thrown off by any change in the hands biometric signature, such as a new ring or even swelling due to allergies. But they are very hard to trick. Finger print scanners have been fooled by hot-dogs with xeroxed finger print swirls on them.
In this case, the target was a Samsung Series 5 Chromebook which has 16GB of local storage. In theory, you could in theory get it to run code that could return data to you. However since the OS itself doesn't really run any services to exploit, you would have to do it via the browser.
Previous pwn2own contests have required someone on the notebook to open a URL emailed to them in order to initiate the attack. It is unclear form this article what the rules where in this case.
How about "do they do their job". This metric can be applied to everyone, not just those telecommuting. Now I work from home, writing software for very dull business processes. I do not think I would be nearly as productive at a desk 9-5 simply because some of my best ideas and breakthroughs happen at night when I'm winding down.
The difference between this and a class system is I can just say to hell with them and play something else. Not that EA isn't already on my "do not buy" list.
This one looks to do all the encryption and decryption on the device - enter the code to unlock, and it decrypts the drive. Rip the drive out and you can't bypass it as it's still encrypted. OS agnostic and everything.
Again, others, including the ones I listed, do the same thing. Go look at the Apricorn products (not an endorsement, just what I currently use).
Yes, just like all the other products on the market including the ones I mentioned. No drivers needed. So what does this do that the others do not? I'm truly interested as I use these products and am always open to alternatives or better options.
How is this different then all the simular systems on the market right now? I use Apricorn drives myself, but there are others using keypads, fingerprint scanners, RFID tokens, etc.
I for one got the flu twice, despite having had a shot. Each time I had different symptoms (including hypothermia) and was told it was a different strain of the virus.

You now owe money for a public performance of the Beetles "Hey Jude".
Looks like the same game engine as #3, making this more like DLC then a new game...

I dont know... there seems to be evidence that they're stupider.
I always change my message after the 999,999,999th time I send it with the same encryption key.

They dont need an unlock code, they have prisons, guns and court orders to turn over the key code.

I have to do compatibility testing and dont want to have to install Windows 8, even on a VMWare image.
Last time I was in one, they had just about made the transition to being a Starbucks knock off.
It is an uncommon, but know symptom of the H1N1 flu.

To be fair... the ATF is inefficient and useless due to being massively defunded. They've not even had a full time director in a long time.
