    So explain your mathematical formula for porn detection. You cant? So then they block everything containing the word breast and the student cant do research. And the bigger question is where do you stop? Do you filter out anything that anyone finds offensive? Because that's a rather all encompassing list.

  2. If the protesters where off in their own little "free speech" zone then fine. But protesting outside my office when I'm trying to relax at work is off putting and the drum circles are really creepy.

    See the problem with free speech is that its often about stuff you dont agree with. The whole point is that its all allowed, or none of it is, because everything is going to annoy/insult/disgust someone. This is no different then books people dont like being banned from the library.

    That being said to hell with the guy watching porn in the library. I just cant think of a valid reason to get rid of him.

    With copyright : You can release your code under GPL requiring people who use it to also release their code under the GPL.
    Without copyright : You can release your code, but you have no way to enforce others to do the same.

    You can call it what you like, but if you are against copyright you are against the GPL and should be using the BSD license.

    If this was a story about software piracy or MP3/movie downloads then the answer would of course be that copyright is wrong and should be removed entirely. But since its about the GPL, I'm guessing we're pro copyright and it should be enforced to the fullest extent of the law.

    For as long as I can remember, it was a paid service unless you where going to use under a given number of hits per month (and it was not a large number last time I checked). That let people play with it, but any serious work required a license.

    They do fine despite the teachers due to parental involvement. This is simply not the case in most US house holds.

    It is far less expensive to have a group overseas develop software. Not better, just cheaper. The same economics apply, but unlike hardware there are zero tariffs or import taxes to pay (not that there are many for hardware).

    What Ron Paul promisses would destroy us (return to the gold standard? really?). Obama has fulfilled more of his campaign promisses then any president in recent history. There are some big issues I'm pissed off that he didn't move on, but overall he's done a very good job as a centerlist administrator.
