Exactly. You choose whatever tool will do or allow you to do the task at hand most effictively. Whether that is windows, linux, HPUX, a turnkey internet appliance, fnords. Not choosing a tool for no other *real* reason save politico bullshit is beyond ridiculous.
I've always found the idea that a god would give abilities to someone and then tell them to never use them as hilarious. The "free will" thing is cute but destroys parts of your gods' power. If you do something they didn't know about, then they weren't all-knowing. If they knew about it but still told you to not do that, then they're just sadists.
They made one chipset that some people had some compatibility issues with ; most of which can be overcome, I know, I had some and then I didn't.
The people who weren't able to fix their issues were extremely vocal, of course, and public opinion swayed away from VIA. Which is too bad, I've been extremely pleased with my VIA-equipped boards.
Genetic inability, it seems. I can grow and, randomly, wear awesome sideburns. However, quality facial hair escapes me. If I just let it go, I end up looking ridiculous.
I wear plaid. I have a long ponytail. I have a lazy eye. I could stand to lose a few pounds. Pretty much all nerd here.
There's no reason for anyone to care about this while they're getting work done. If you've got a product that's going to do/enable you to do the work you need it for but you don't use it because of libre/gratis masturbation, you're ridiculous.
2k at home, xp on the road, osx for layout, linux and hpux in the server closet.
My friendly neighborhood liquor vendors were going nuts over CoD2 on their 360. Raving about how much better it was than PC and how the HD is amazing. Which was interesting because they hadn't ever played it on an HDTV, nor had they ever played the PC version. I know. I asked.
Me, I've been enjoying HD games and content for years; on my computer.
i call bullshit. i ran both games on a rage 128 which handled UT99 and Q3 just fine with quality at medium low levels. The Radeon (later renamed Radeon 7500) was built around running those games!
Maybe we have differing opinions of "just fine". Either that or you played them in OS9 and the OSX ports for both games weren't that great. Or maybe a little of both.
I'll believe cost, I'm not sure I believe size or power anymore. I'm not saying that it needs to be a powerhouse, but the R7500 in my iBook is poor. It had troubles running UT99 and Q3, that's pretty sad. Actually, outside of having a portable OSX machine, I'm a little disapointed. The screen sucks, the trackpad sucks, the keyboard sucks; it even has trouble running Garageband, a product apple ships with the laptop!;_;
In her defense, she makes a good portable multitrack, otoh, so did my $100 thinkpad. She's a good girl, I'm just not sure it was worth it.
Please, don't put some toilet video card in the macbook. I'm looking at you Intel Integrated. If you're going after the college kids market AT ALL, the macbook has to be able to game at least most of the time.
I'd wager they do really want to, the problem is public opinion would swing amazingly quickly against the USA. OTOH, it's working for Israel, maybe the USA just needs better marketing.
Umm... Painter, anyone?
Painter and, to a lesser extant, CorelDRAW are still used quite a bit by folks I know.
Citizen, I believe you forget that enforcers are above the law.
Everybody else won't be releasing DX10-only games for at least a year or three because it'd be pissing money away.
Exactly.

Mom?

God may be love, but he's also a dom.

If I am, I'm his evil twin.
I don't have a beard.
I use commercial, closed-source software.
I bathe.

Yeap, because betamax(not cam), MD and SACD failing drove them to bankruptcy.
Sony could hemorrhage money for years and be fine.
Judging by what they've been using in the Shuttles, I'd say it'll be an 80386.
You could but it's completely unrealistic.
Even if no one buys the PS3 and it's a complete flop, Sony is not Sony Computer Entertainment alone.
I thought this kind of study wasn't allowed anymore.
Doesn't the ability to cease data collection invalidate any insight that might be provided?

We're nerds, we very much do not count.
If you talk to average joe gamer, HD elitism has been going on since last gen EVEN IF THEY DON'T OWN AN HDTV.
Neo Geo had a fuckton lot of better games, especially for the time.
It wasn't as an arcade in your home, it WAS an arcade for the home.
I can't see myself paying more than about $150 for a console.
Buy a GBA.
No bullshit, huge game library, good battery life, good homebrew community.

It did, however, play QW and Q2 fine.

I tried getting an RMA from mum but she refused. I'm reporting her to the BBB and my local DA's office.
