    This is /. so anything we say is conjecture anyway, we have no real points of reference.
    However, I think most mundanes are indifferent to what operating system they use. They'll only use what they learned on and they fear and/or hate change.

    It doesn't matter how good or how bad the choices are, they're going to use what they were showed how to use.

    The X800Pro (and up) beats the 9800Pro. Get something like the X850XT/PE and you're good for another long while.
    Remember, PCI-E was introduced for the future, we haven't hit on games that saturate an AGP 8x bus.

    I want a Palm IIIxe with a higher res screen, optional wifi and INSANE BATTERY LIFE.
    I don't care about colour, hard drives, playing video or mp3s.
    I do care about connectivity and portability.
    A portable device with an hour and a half battery life isn't very portable.

Autofocus killed photography in the 80s along with matrix and TTL flash metering. 3D and colour matrix metering killed photography in the 90s. Digital cameras killed photography in the 00s

    I've got a B&W/350, myself. OSX is incredibly usable on this machine if you max the ram out. Tiger was actually a speed increase for me, booting and finder wise.

    If you really feel the need to complain; blame yourself. A sawtooth g4, middle-of-the-road equipped, goes for like 100-300 on the used market. B&Ws have ADB ports, for heaven's sake. They were a good transition machine, well, the Rev2s anyway, but they're not speed demons.
    This isn't apple-apologism. This is common sense.
