I use GnuPG to sign my outgoing eMail. I also use it to encrypt files for me and other friends. From time to time, to transfer sensitive information like passwords.
Also, I mixed OpenPGP with HTTP and created Enigform (firefox extension) and mod_openpgp (apache module, formerly known as mod_auth_openpgp).
Imagine a star-wars (r) game using both Wii-like physical movements for the lightsaber, while using the headset to use the Force at the same time!!!!
OMGICIC!
(OhMyGodI'mComingI'mCommmmmmmmmming!)
They should just shut up and read Small Gods by Terry Pratchett:
"Gods on the Discworld exist as long as people believe in them and their power grows as their followers increase. This is a philosophy echoing the real-world politics of the power of religion and is most detailed in the novel Small Gods. If people should cease believing in a particular god (say, if the religion becomes more important than faith) the god begins to fade and, eventually, will "die", becoming little more than a faded wispy echo."
Yes, for example, you have Courier-MTA, which is a lovely and complete GNU GPLv2 package that closely follows standards and has lots of wonderful features, and a great filters API. For instance, you can implement SPF, Antivirus, Greylisting, several useful whitelistings and spamassassin in 5 minutes just by installing the pythonfilter package.
http://www.courier-mta.org/
Although, to be fair, it lacks some milter-like filter API.
Heh. I'm so lucky. This is the 2nd time a magazine ceases publication as soon as I get to publish an article (I wrote the 'OpenPGP for http' article of the last SAMag issue).
Yes. When I was asked to coordinate a team of designers and programmers to create the first argentinian webmail, portal and news company (dot.com bubble), we analyzed ALL available FLOSS RDBMS. Even at that early stage, PostgreSQL was FAR superior to MySQL at the integrity and complexity (ie "sql standards it supported") and manageability levels.
Of course, you had to tweak it for all queries, but that's what a good DBA does anyway:)
If you want a "new" authentication method check out Enigform and mod_auth_openpgp which implements OpenPGP Signing of HTTP requests, which enables identity and data authentication, makes the whole user/password approach old age.
Oh well, what do you expect from a company that has zone transfers enabled? Of course, some would argue that closing axfr is security through obscurity... sure. For me, it plays as a script-kiddie-countermeasure to slow them down:
shellcode.com.ar has address 0.0.0.0 mail.shellcode.com.ar has address 200.42.47.10 ftp.shellcode.com.ar has address 200.42.47.10 www.shellcode.com.ar has address 200.42.47.10 lists.shellcode.com.ar has address 200.42.47.10 dns1.shellcode.com.ar has address 200.42.47.10 shellcode.com.ar has address 0.0.0.0 mail.shellcode.com.ar has address 200.42.47.10 ftp.shellcode.com.ar has address 200.42.47.10 www.shellcode.com.ar has address 200.42.47.10 lists.shellcode.com.ar has address 200.42.47.10 dns1.shellcode.com.ar has address 200.42.47.10
At least they used the good'ol zoneedit.com service.
In other news, lots of people discovered the power of linux systems without the hassle of getting their ati and nvidia video drivers to work.
Violation of GPL? Sure.
Was a good thing? Most definitely.
I'd rather have the source without blobs of all drivers, anyway...
I love FICTION!

Bravo, bravo!
http://maotest.buanzo.org/ (some stuff with OpenPGP for HTTP, secure session initiation, etc)
...how much 1.21 gigawatts is! :D
You forgot...
6. Profit!
> Start a drinking game where everyone increases their drinks parabolically. (or alternatively: everyone drinks when someone says "Archimedes.")
:D
That's actually pretty cool

There you go, more things to use pgp with.

> Obviously you have never met RMS. I did. More than once. Even had dinner with him (here, in Argentina). And I agree with you. I know what you mean.
Heh. How long until ThinkGeek start selling the ShowerBuzzer with Self-Power option? :P
One for the floor of your shower.

AMEN! (without any religious sense)
And since when illegality was an issue for politicians?
+1 on that. I was just going to say the same. Yours being the first reply definitely says my thought was kinda shared by the rest :P

Ask Guinan, Geordi, or better yet, Q.
