    the new iphone requires a contract to buy. you can't buy them from apple anymore.

    Also, jailbreak won't work on the new iphone.. so there goes all of your selling points.

    actually AT&T's 3G service is UMTS. HSDPA is 3.5G.. and engadget cast some doubts on whether or not the iphone supports HSDPA since they were capping out at 200kbps in their hands-on tests.

    Verizon doesn't have a network that's compatible with 3G phones. Until Verizon modernizes their network,


    hahaha "modernizes". Verizon's EVDO network is MUCH faster than AT&T's 3G network.

    Engadget did some speed tests on the new 3g iphone.. it's only 200kbps. Barely twice the speed of the EDGE iphone. Verizon's EVDO network, on the other hand, is 3 times as fast as the new "speedy" 3G AT&T network.

    I picked up a bluetooth gps adapter for $40. Works perfectly with my phone (HTC Apache running google maps natively)

    Reiser's own lawyer said he would be open to such a move.

    After the verdict, someone asked whether or not Reiser might seek a lesser sentence by revealing the location of the body. The lawyer said (and I'm quoting here):
    "We'll have to talk to the prosecution about that".

    One of the people he claimed to have murdered is still alive.

    Do you even understand hat "circumstantial" is? If they found her body, and found the murder weapon in his house, that'd be circumstantial evidence.

    what you're missing is that seadragon constructs these things analytically from a collection of photos.

    Basically I can run around taking random photos some zoomed in, some not and seadragon will automatically stitch it all together.

    Then don't buy it. No one if forcing you.


    Application developers are. Far too many mac developers abandon all but the latest OSX version too quickly.

    The following require Leopard: Delicious Library, TextMate, TubeTV, even the iPhone SDK.

    Just like when Tiger came out, Panther users were quickly abandoned.

    I don't know if I'd use the term "lock down". Alltel installs some crap on their phones, but they've stopped disabling features (other than MMS, which they're actively trying to kill).

    However, all the big alltel phones are HTC, and it's trivial to flash a new rom on there anyway, so even if they "locked it down", it takes no time at all to put a completely custom rom. I'm running WM6 on my HTC Apache.

    Right click on the folder, hold down Shift, and select Open All in Tabs. It'll create a new window, and open all those bookmarks in tabs on that new window.

    ff3 properly averages pixels when you scale.

    Or heck, even Windows Explorer has modifier keys for right click - often Shift- or Alt- right-click can bring up a context menu with more actions


    So does OSX. Command-right-click on a program in the dock gives you the previously-hidden "Force Quit".

    I looked at the sample questions, and I have to recommend that math teachers learn English before teaching math.

    For a long time, safari didn't support AJAX. Not until safari 2 (which came out with tiger).

    The phrase "grain of salt" means there is so little "meat" there, you only need a single grain of salt to season it.

    By saying stuff like "take with a block of salt", you're reversing the meaning of the phrase. You really meant "take with half a grain of salt" or something along those lines.
