I always hated netscape, and their communicator was Bloatware...
However Mozilla is interesting, and Firefox is fantastic.
The moral of the story is the software has to be useable and better than what is already out there...IE was better for a long time...until Firefox came out anyway.
But I am old school...I used IBrowse on my Amiga back in 1994.
I have no problem with your comments, except the ones attributed to religion were inaccurate at best.

etc.
But then your statement wouldn't have as much sting would it.
Uh, yea...here have some more koolaid.
I have used DishNetworks PVR and Tivo...they are NOTHING alike, except they record video.
They operate differently, they look different, and (more importantly) they use different technology.
Seems to me that while watching pro football back in the 80s they had this thing called instant replay. Everyone wanted that ability at home...most people would record programs then watch them later, just so they could skip the adds, boring parts etc. Some folks had banks of VCRs recording various channels.
So TIVO did not invent this. I did. So did everyone else with a vcr, quickly hitting record when something interesting came up, and then during the ads hitting rewind on the VCR and watching it again.
Sorry, it is BS.
So since the idea was already there, the question is how about the technology, well Dish uses proprietary technology to accomplish the task, so no infringement there.
Lets get to the meat of the matter. Young drivers have less experience and get into more accidents...mostly because they are invincible.
However there are a LOT of older drivers that should not be allowed anywhere near a vehicle.
The issue is Drivers Licensing. A skills test/reaction test...one that is actually challenging should be a part of the Drivers licence.
Going to the issue of flying. I have flown at 200' at 390Kts (about 400MPH), with radios blaring, and other things being done. The issue isn't so much multitasking or task switching. It is task prioritization.
Use of maps, phones, conversation, etc are all lower on the list than maintaining proper speed, distance, and location on road.
If you are on a busy street then all your attention is on distance and location.
If you are on the interstate, and it isn't too busy, then you have some extra attention to share with phone, gps, converstation whatever.
When you look at your speedometer you look away from the road, how long you look away depends on how quickly you are able to interpret the info on your dash.
If you drive like you should, then you are not only monitoring your dash instruments, but also all your mirrors, and keeping track of all the other vehicles in your vicinity.
So I resent the dumbing down of America. Set a higher standard, and those that cannot handle it lose their licenses and support the cab companies.
This law (of course the link I read mentioned nothing about laptops and said GPS's were OK) is just a PC knee jerk reaction. I would rather see a law against women drivers putting on makeup, or grey haired ladies driving gigantic road battleships that they cannot even see over.
The NRA (no matter what your political spin) has been around for ages, and part of its job is instruction in gun safety. Additionally there is info on personal safety.
I am not an NRA member nor do I care if you are for/against the organization.
Just get your facts from a blocked website...or perhaps a neutral website.
BTW I know more people who were killed by motor vehicles than guns...5 to 0.
well?
It is not a radio transmitter, therefore not covered under the radar jammer laws.
Light transmitters fall under the Food and Drug administration...
I have a record album of Police Syncronisity (I know I spelt it wrong) and ACDC For those about to Rock. Both of those have unplayable first tracks on both sides...do to poor pressing/materials...they are warped.
I don't have a LP player in my car...infact I only have one in the house for the purpose of putting songs to CD.
So Riddle me this Batman...How am I supposed to get a copy of those 4 tracks that are unplayable on the albums?
Am I a pirate if I download those 4 songs to replace the ones I cannot play?...is the uploader a pirate for allowing me to get those 4 songs that I already paid for but cannot use?
I think the RIAA wants me to buy a few more albums/CDs/cassettes of the same recording so that I won't be a pirate...
OOOh but what if I get the clearance cutouts recordings at the discount store...or CDs at the pawn shop that are cheap because they don't pay any royalties...hmmm...am I a pirate then?
Well I don't have the FAA directive in front of me, but REFILLABLE lighters (the ones that use the liquid lighter fluid) and self lighting matches are illegal...last I looked the little butane lighters are not illegal, because they don't spill...and the vapor doesn't escape on its own.
So if you have a fuel cell that is sealed, non spillable, there shouldn't be a problem...however if you can open the top and pour more ethanol or other flammable liquid in it, then that will be a problem, and not allowed on aircraft.
And those of you worried about that fuel cell blowing up like a gernade...your little butane lighters that you carry in your pocket next to the family jewels, has the destructive force of a stick of dynamite.
I have had Dishnetwork for a few years. A friend of mine just got the 501 receiver with the PVR built in. First I didn't realize it was a PVR until I noticed the remote had some extra buttons.
The machine is as quiet as a regular receiver, the video output is exactly the same as on a regular receiver, it has quite a few hours of recording time, and it is always recording, so if you happen to be watching something and you want to rewind, you can. Of course you can set the timers etc. Also if you get to an end of a show and think you now want to record it, just hit save.
When I upgrade, ALL my Dish receivers will be PVR...BTW a twin tuner/PIP receiver should be coming soon.
Of course the accords (not Honda necessarily) punish the US but not China/India/Russia/etc.
There is another one I used...but I can't remember the name...ah the days of manually editing all the internet settings so your browser would work.

Slashdotted from hell...now that is funny...I wonder how long until the slashdot drones figure out that it is a joke.

Obviously you have never driven in Louisiana...red light means hurry up.
Another Troll...
OMG ROTFL >like a bloated tick
Theft is wrong...it hurts everyone eventually.

I think the point of the article is the amazing work done by engineers in the 1940's with slide rules and log tables...not to promote war.
