From the screenshots I've seen, apparently you can choose to compress messages that you don't mind taking longer to search for, supposing you'd have to search for them.
While I agree that the flatness does get tiresome, it's only like that to add to realism: Vice City is supposed to be Miami, right? If you've actually spent much time in Miami you know that the only hill for miles is Mount Trashmore. If you think it gets boring in a game, imagine living in the real thing. It drives you insane!
Then again, you also have Hatians, Cubans, cocaine, cars randomly exploding, and all that other good stuff:D
This is one of the best things that's ever happened to me. I don't know how or why, but 99% of my spam must have originated from this guy, as I haven't gotten a single one in over 12 hours!
Gah, so that explains it. My schedule was often such that I had to stay up more than 24 hours to get much time with my girlfriend, and thus much caffeine was consumed before seeing her. But those nights tended not to be as...um..."active"..as normal nights. Thanks for the tip!
Not to try to make up any parallel between Descartes and The Matrix, it does seem that the only one who can fully control the dream that is The Matrix is The One, a.k.a. God. Of course there's no circular reasoning going on in The Matrix as there's no real reasoning to begin with. They just take a little from here, a little from there, and the end result looks cool.
I don't mind that the plot is laden with pseudo-philosophy. It certainly makes things much more interesting than your average action movie. But it is annoying when people try to derive any depth from The Matrix.
What's better would be to read Descartes, and then use the ideas you learned from him to analyze The Matrix. There's plenty going on in The Matrix that you can analyze from a philosophical perspective, but you have to get that philosophy from an outside source--you can't find it in the movie itself.
Ah, so it showed it Latin America? That makes sense. I used to live in Mexico and I got really into "Caballeros del Zodiaco" aka Saint Seiya over there. I also know a lot of people who got in Ranma and things like that while living in Mexico.
The Eldridge is the space ship you see in the beginning of Xenogears, the RPG by Squaresoft that no sci-fi fan should miss. With a wingspan of 42 kilometers and a length of 100 kilometers, it has everything on that chart easily outclassed in size, except maybe the space slug. There's some other pretty cool ships from Xenogears too, like Excalibur, Ezekiel, Merkavah, and Yggdrasil IV which transforms into a giant robot:D
I just received one of the fakest spams I've ever seen:
Hi Ya,
I saw your post on the message boards... I hope
you don't mind sharing some information with me
^_^
I'm transfering to your neck of the woods in the
spring and would like
a penpal. What do you think? ^_^ Care to share
some info.. hehehhe..eh
If you'd like more information about me you can
checkout my homepage if you have
time... www.geocities.com/cafecutie21
Hope to hear from ya soon!
BYEE~~~
Sammi~
It's obviously spam, what with lines like "I hope
you don't mind sharing some information with me" but this time they went beyond just fake emails. Out of curiosity and boredom I clicked on the link which had a whole fake website for this girl, which ultimately linked to some online dating service. Why would companies turn to deceptive advertising? Why would anyone want to trust a company using such dirty methods.
I know it's lame to reply to my own comment but, it seems the home version does have a drum controller. But it's only the top of the drum, so it's not quite as big as it looks in the arcade.
I used to play it at the arcade where I lived near Nagoya. Loads of fun. My friend and I got really good at it and could play the hardest levels. We sounded like professional taiko drummers. My only question is: Does the home version actually include two huge taiko drums to plug into your PS2, and if so how much would it cost to import that? +_+ It wouldn't be nearly as fun without them.
I know I'm way late posting this, but oh well. This is incredibly old news. I bought one these when I was in Japan 3 months ago (I was in the market for a new laptop so I had the money). The little thing is slow at times. The hard drive in particular seems to be a bottleneck. But I still love it. It's very durable, and even fits in the pockets of some of my pants. I also bought the firewire DVD-ROM/CD-RW drive for it which, while loud, works very well. Only other problem is while it has a Radeon Mobility, it only has 8MB of RAM. It was pathetic when I tried to play UT2003 on it. But Ragnarok Online works beautifully on it so I'm happy (or will be happy when they come back online)
Perhaps they could include banner ads to generate more revenue. It would kinda suck, especially considering that you're the one providing a service to them. But if it's what it takes to keep the project going I wouldn't mind...
The range also stinks. You have to follow them around everywhere. Sure it's small, but that doesn't make it fun considering the full-sized RC cars that can do everything.
I haven't seen either of the cars in the review, but when I lived in Japan lots of people had one called "Char-G" and it they were rediculous little things. Hobby stores had whole floors full of customizations for these things: faster motors, custom frame parts, etc... When it came right down to it though they're just not that fun to play with. They don't have the all terrain capabilities of regular-sized RC cars. When I played with my friend's Char-G it was only fun for about 15 minutes....and all I did was make it zoom around in a figure 8 for a bit and run it down a few flights of stairs "to test its durability" then it had to be recharged and after that I didn't really feel like playing with it anymore.
Agreed. I'm just as much against anti-spam legislation as I would be against anti-internet piracy legislation. I'll I'd like to see is more and better ways for people to fight a personal war against their spam.
This isn't a new idea but it's cool that NASA's working on it. They might need something like that with this budget crunch. I'm surprised they can even afford to play with just the idea:P
In remember in Final Fantasy 8 they used a combination of some big gun and mag-lev to launch ships into space. It was one of the cooler things in that game.
That's a frightening idea. I "fully copyright-compliant computer." I guess I can just imagine big copyright-holding groups paying major computer vendors to build something like that for consumers. And in a way that seems like a good idea. If most people's computers can't rip a CD, they probably won't bother trying to fix it. But then what if they make something like that a law? You build your own computer, and it's illegal. You *have* to buy your computer from a copyright-compliant vendor or else risk fines.
Oh well, this is getting offtopic so I'll shut up now.
Yep, pretty much. Actually I consider myself pretty damn otaku, but I think most American so called "otaku" are pretty dumb, mainly because of what you said about them thinking they're so 31337 because they can say "wai" and "sugoi" and "baka". I challenge any of them to actually learn Japanese, but unfortunately most of them have no more intelligence than the average trekkie.

Doraemon? Are you Japanese? I wasn't aware that Doraemon was ever on tv anywhere outside of Japan.
Ahhhhhhrggghh, how it pains me when I see it called that. Sorry...

I know. I always misspell that word. Who are you, Claudia? >_>
Sounds like fun. Just make sure he/she doesn't eat it -_^ Terriers in particular seem to like eating/choking on small moving things in my experience
Yeah but these don't have engines--they just have tiny electro-magnetic motor. I'd like to see you try to build an engine that small -_^

So I see... Thanks for the correction ^^; Sometimes it's hard to tell with those things.
