For MTV to pull a slashdot, They would have to link to someone's site who it is clear can't afford the bandwidth and rid the Internet of the news they (/.) were reporting on that day. It's a lot more than just leaking stories, it involves keeping the public from viewing the source of the stories as well.
"Once there, one of its roles would be to route data between the ISS, other satellites and the ground as aprt of the TDRS (Tracking and Data Relay Satellite) project."
Without the aprt, I think this project is doomed. in fact, with out a daily dose of aprt in our lives, we are all doomed.
Red Hat: "AOL, do you love me?"
AOL: "Yes of course."
Red Hat: "I have heard all of these nasty rumors that you are only using me for who I am and that you don't care about me at all. Is this true?
AOL: "Perhaps...Oh wait, I mean NO! NO! Who told you such things?"
Red Hat: "Your ex: Netscape."
AOL: "That stupid bitch."
Get a grip... nobody will notice unless you freeze frame the future dvd and then who really cares...
We are talking about the creatures of the/. universe here. All we do is gripe and complain because we'd obviously do a much better job at telling someone else's story.
I think it's funny when someone gripes like this about something. Yeah, the new movies aren't what remember the old ones as. Then again, people would be complaining if they were the exact same.
It's just like the angsty kids who listen to all the trendy underground music and get mad when the second album sounds different than the first. Artists get bored and continue to expirement. While Lucas' expirementation has a huge franchise behind it, let's be kind enough to give the movie a chance.
Most amusing point about the entire bit is that everyone complaining is still going to shell out the cash to see the movie multiple times.
Imagine the kind of latchkey kids this will raise...
"Honey, the movie starts at 7 and the babysitter isn't here yet!"
"Let's just drop the kids off at Wal-Mart. It's open 24 hours right? And they have one of those Game Boy Blue Advanced Teeth things to keep the kids connected to their peers!"
"Good idea! Those Game Boys were such a smart investment!"
What do you mean they don't make them like they used to?
Surprisingly enough, the textfile scene is quite alive!
Both www.textscene.com and scene.textfiles.com do what they can to stay on top of the newest tfiles.
