No shock there. Everyone should have learned from Sendo that allowing MS access to the intellectual property they want, without a blood contract, is asking for trouble.
"Smart balance control"? I don't know about you, but I'm not trusting my life to any semi-intelligent device they name HAL. Especially when they release the 9000 model.
Ugh, the ffdirect show version in the nimo codec pack has been causing people XviD hassles for ages... green playback screens, due to it not actually supporting XviD yet. Haven't checked recently, but I assume this has been remedied in the new version..?
Out of interest, if we could build a computer that could manage all our thought processed (sentience, creativity etc), would that persuade you that the computer has a soul, or that humans never had them in the first place?
If I remember, the PS2 doesn't have a real sound processing chip at all.. the specs are always quoted as:
"48 channels, with 3D surround sound 2MB Sound memory Output Frequency: Up to 48 KHz (DAT quality)"
But without any mention of the hardware. Apparantly programmers use the vertex shaders or some such to do the sound DSP. Don't think you're gonna want to do that on a portable unit to get 7.1...
I was wondering why they chose 802.11 over Bluetooth; power requirements anyone? BT's 10m is more that sufficient range to play games over, 802.11 sounds just a little excessive.
Isn't this the same fast one the Bluetooth Consortium pulled on us? A "bluetooth complient" device need only impliment the HID, networking or [name of 3rd class, which I forget] classes, so in theory, you could have 3 "bluetooth" devices that are totally unable to talk to each other.
Bluetooth is expensive in phones, because retailers charge a premium for "business-grade" phones; correct me if I'm wrong, but here in the UK at least, bluetooth in phones is seen as a busisnessman's tech toy.
Because they have a benevolent reposting god to watch over them.
I've been living at University in the same flat as the parent poster for 2 years now, and he's never ONCE mentioned this site to me!
Why? It only takes 1-2 mins to fill 128Mb at USB 1 speeds, and how often DO you write to it vs listen to it?

Rob, save the moderators time and add the option "-1, unbiased view of Microsoft" -_-
Agreed. I'm not trolling, but one could argue that noone cares enough about macs or linux to target them with viruses. :P

Then you should definately take a look at Messenger Plus. Amazing 3rd party "plugin", including ad-removal.
...or do we just have to scroll to the bottom of the page to find the Trillian-compatible Messenger version?

Well now, is that a fact? ;)

"Still no " is usually timothy's trademark.
I thought the whole reason "virii" isn't the plural of "virus" was because it would be pronounced the same as the plural of "male" (viri)?
Yeah, I'm sure they filed micropayments along with the rest of their patents they invented 87 years ago.
Yes they are, it's the name of the digit that's opposable.
Agreed, christurkel needs to look up the meaning of ad hominem.
Do we REALLY know what USB it actually has?

Why do I suspect the actual quote involves the word "shove"?
...before we see Lik-sang taking preorders for these.

I'm sure it's just a matter of better cooling. ;)
