It appears that the posters assumed violation of the GPL was because the router used files from non-standard locations. Further, it appears that said file locations can be specified in a 'conf' file. Finally, it appears as a result of this that the claim of GPL violation by Linksys is in error.
Also, the claim that Broadcom may need to release their source also seems to be in error due to the fact that their modified GCC has not been publicly released, and the only one that can claim the right to examine said source code of the GCC modifications is Linksys.
The point is simply that if robots displace people, what are they going to do, grin and bear it?
And as for suicide attacks, This is a new day and age. Automatic weapons are everywhere. its just too easy to get this stuff nowadays. So I suspect that presents people with more options. Don't forget, we already got nuts in the US that committ mass suicide.
This is when you will see Americans become suicide bombers. When you take a mans hope completely away, nasty things will soon follow. Simply people will not stand for it. You could replace your wife with a baby making robot, but then who are you going to enteract with?
In the end, we need each other, and society will only tolerate so much displacement. After all, all we need is food shelter and water. Most of those we can make for ourselves, today at least...
I use NiCd and NiMH. The NiCd are old ones that are still good and I wont toss em till they die.
My son has lots of electronic toys, I fill all with rechargables. I put rechargables in anything that gets frequent use, and use standards in things that dont.
You find Li batteries in equipment that tends to be charged daily. From the daily charge I highly suspect they don't hold charge too well, but they probably have high life cycles. Probably why they don't go in pagers and other stuff that does not have a built in charger.
His question was somewhat off. The loss of addresses is not due to NAT not working, its due to dynamic IP addresses causing difficulties for *everything* you cited.
When your IP changes, your server (whatever the type) is disconnected. You need to use a service like dynDNS or some such, which works but is a hack.
Also, try having 2-3 people behind a NAT and playing those same games online, possible but not as easy.
I still dont think the IP addy space is running out. Seems like another Y2K scam if you ask me. Maybe I should buy stock in cisco...
The code is not signed by the user but the publisher.
Java does this now. The issue is who is certifying your ability to sign. Today in Java their are ONLY 2. Verisign and thawte (which I hear is 1 nowadays). So you either pay your $200+/year or you get no certificate to sign with. not running unsigned code is trivial. Getting a certificate from verisign will require your full identification so that if your program starts breaking into peoples systems, they will know exactly who to call.
How they plan on preventing the end user from running code not certified/signed by themselves is beyond me. The enthusiast Motherboard manufacturers will always bake in a method around this. Which will get them higher sales. No way around it.
You are wrong on 1 point. Their is no cross-licensing. Their are only gentlemans agreements. They just dont sue each other. Mutual assured destruction.
It goes on it most inductries. Heck, I suspect most companies have no idea what their engineers have patented until its time to go to battle with someone.
I learned about my 3rd year of college that even taking notes was difficult. Its best to pay very close attention to what the teacher is 'saying.' And ask the TEACHER any questions you have. writing notes is a distraction, though you have to do it. Sometimes good teachers will pass out notes at the beginning of class.
Of course that was undergrad at a Historically Black College (HBCU). I went to grad school at a regular American University. They are very different. The teachers don't provide nearly as much assistance or guidance. They believe in difficulty through quantity. They let the TAs do all the work, and the lectures can be simply tiresome. I could see dozing off their since most of the comprehension was not in the class room but in the study groups...Seems like kids in regular universities are scared to ask questions or challenge the teacher, so they waste time chatting with each other.
(The teachers can still be helpful once you pin them down in their office and make it clear your not leaving till they explain this sh!t clearly.) not likely from your average american student at the average US institution. - In my experience at least.
It wont take them long to realize they are marketing to people unwiling to buy. Thus they are wasting their time and money. They will then feel negatively about it without even ever knowing what really happened.
That is completely inaccurate. Patents have their place. They are not completely worthless.
2nd and 3rd hand patents AND copywrights is where it gets questionable. Everyone should be able to patent what they invent, heck and even license it. But i disagree when the patent itself is sold.
Thats the diff between this case and the SCO case./.ers are intelligent enough to know the difference.
Forget gadgets, they are everywhere. In the Detroit Area I would recommend a few things.
1. Henry Ford Museum, just because its here and historically important.
Aside from that, visit the various communities to see how people live away from their native lands. We have a large arabic community, a large polish and eastern European community, handful of Asians, lots of African Americans, etc.
Try to make friends with someone that will show you a little piece of their community. That is what America is all about, and if you miss that, you have not see her.
You are never required to distribute the source. It has to be resonably available. (i.e. I shouldnt have to drive to Texas to get it.)

This is why the feds always bust in your house at 2am; So you can't flush your evidence.
;)
Now if your key is already hidden like say, in your "Gold Tooth."

So you understand my point then?
If those are fair usages, then why bother to put them in the license? Its implied anyway by what your saying right?

Rotating Tie-rack

Flashlight

Cordless telephones
cellular telephones
Cameras
computers
PDAs

Right, I know, I know. You can't beat 'em, so join 'em...Do you always give in so easily?

so does gpg. www.gnupg.org.
Can we all say, "late!"
I think he was again making the distinction between criminal and civil matters.
Seems as if Torvalds didn't have much problem doing this. But hes probably got more power to tell his 'boss' off than you do..

Yup yup yup.
I know a certain one of the Big3 automakers that told a certain supplier exactly this;
"We don't care where you build your parts, we will be paying you as if you built them in mexico."
Of course its also the auto inductry that discovered people are a lot cheaper than robots. And 3rd world 'inhabitants' are a lot cheaper than people.
Targeted marketing.

I was not aware ID was publicly traded.
NAT? get real. Would you be willing to accept a NAT address from your ISP? And why not?
Maybe you can answer what is wrong with your assertion yourself.
windows does not crash that often IMHO.
Typically they are reminded by others running for office.
