I think the day my "real-life community" goes online, I'll lay off the caffeine i.v. I have going here and pry my ass out of this chair.

Real life is good sometimes people. I know...you gotta deal with other people but if you're to the point were you but black paint under your eyes to reduce monitor glare (no kidding I've done this in a personal 48 hour gaming marathon), it's time to take a walk.

if you ever wanted to kill anybody...this is the way to do it. very small dosage and not usually screened for in an autopsy without previous suspicion. Nicotine is also very toxic with and L.D. 50 of 230 orally in mice. However, nicotine turns brown upon exposure to light, has an acrid burning taste, and smells of pyradine. However it is very cheap. Merck was unable to provide an L.D. number orally for humans for caffeine or nicotine. Remember though, the L.D. 50 is the dosage at which half of the specimens die. To insure lethal dosage, double the amount given in the L.D. 50. Happy poisioning I guess...

if they are 140 microns thick or whatever, wouldn't they be susceptible to tearing? I mean basically this is just like the foil data layer of a cd with very little protection. this would also make them more vulnerable to scratches and whatnot because you dont have a millimeter or so of plastic between the face and the data. a scratch that would not affect a normal cd may very well scratch all the way to the data layer of a thin cd.

NASA can't even keep all of their measurements in SI, and we're going to let them accelerate nuclear reactors to 17,500+mph?!?! what happens when the self destruct code has to be issued because some retard messed up the entire launch because he read a comma as a decimal: nuclear fallout? yes, nuclear fission powered craft are one of the only ways to get to where we want to go, but there are other options such as ion propulsion and some other innovative ideas floating around. also, the weight of the shielding around a nuclear reactor would make the craft horribly inefficient because it would be using all of the energy just to overcome gravity, rather than accelerating to never before seen speeds.

i have some tritium albeit very small amounts. it comes in the form of a sealed glass tube with trtium gas inside. the inner walls of the tube are coated with phosphorous. when the beta radiation hits the phosphorous, it gets excited and glows. these completely self contained light sources glow for 10 - 20 years. however, in order to import them to most NATO countries, you need a license from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission or equivalent. If you live in a non-NATO country however, forget about it. I however obtained them without a NRC license, which is in case you all try it, very much illegal.

What if NASA sent out a space probe every year with pretty much the same trajectory. This way each probe could have modern technology, be able to probe faster/better, and if they kept launching them every year, the farthest one would only have to transmit as far as the one release the year after the first was launched so that the 2nd one would amplify and retransmit to the 3rd one and so on and so on.

ok, now bring on the inevitable jokes about a beowolf cluster of probes.
