Would it be all right to publis lyrics if they were changed in any way? I'll refrase that, would it be ok to publish lyrics in ALL CAPS and call that the BIFF version? (And putting it in the Public Domain?)
Reproducing lyrics in text could be considred an art form (for sure there will be differences).
How about a search-only lyric site? Where you can google for that song that goes: "... hu hu hu what ever you mean... hu hu... don't know why..."
Why in the hell would anyone object to the reproduction of lyrics?
Mr Passath said: "It was a hard job because the only person I could test it on was myself which was painful but a good incentive to get it right as soon as possible. You have to wonder, Mr Passath is clever enough to design a tattooing robot, but why is he not clever enough to test it with a pen, transparent ink, or on soaked leather? I am not a tattoo specialist but this would work too, would it not?
I wonder if the resolution on a Palm Pilot is high enough to do some serious tattooing. But the real win would be full colour tattoos. I have to wonder about precision though (just look at the picture, the Palm screen differs form the tattoo on the arm) I do not see any form of feedback. Since the skin has moving muscles underneath it, I think feedback is necessary to keep a tattoo consistent. Just imagine tattooing a big circle, start at the top and go clockwise. Will there be a (perfect) circle or will it be a C line shape or spiral? I would not give my right arm for it to be a perfect circle... Would you?
Let's face it, MS Office is important to many people. Infact it is one (or the) killer-app for MS Windows. They know this in Redmond. I would vote for splitting MS in two (or more) parts, one would do MS Office and the other MS Windows. I think the Office people would port Office to Linux in no-time. It would make business sence, but it would not be good for the Windows company.
Think of all the unnecessary programming effort that SuSE and other are putting in getting MS Office to work under Linux!
MS is a monopolist and it fighting hard (and dirty) to keep it that way.
I vote for breaking up MS or at least decoupeling MS Windows and MS Office.
You may think I am a dreamer, but I am not the only one!
In the article it states that Fujitsu conducted an experiment identifying a number of palms out of 700 palms and the system had an error rate of 0.5 percent. It does not state what kind of errors were made. Failing to identify a palm or, confusing two palms. In the latter case, the error rate goes up dramatically with the number of palms in the database.
It seems to me the project isn't finished by far. But I feel envious, here are people doing good for a large group of people that need it the most. Other goups come to mind. Why don't *I* do something like this? It would make the world a better place and I would have fun doning it. Infact, why are we not all do something like this?
Would it be possible to write a program that feeds disinformation to doubleclick? If 5000 people would download it (I might) and run it on theire xDSL modem... How fast would theire database be turning bad? And if their statistics are wrong, their business is gone.
> So, JanMark, if YOU were in von Braun's position, just what would YOU have done? Well, I sure as hell would not try my best, I would not have asked Hitler for more money. I assure you my rockets would never have come off the ground. (But that could also be due to lack of talent:-) As an aside, I seriously doubt if he would have been threatened with deportation to a concentration camp. But threatened he will have been,/after/ he showed the ability to build those rockets.

IMHO you learn to program just like you learn to talk. First you mumble after an adult (wizzard), without comprehension, than you find meaning in the words. Only then you get your first glimps of semantics, as you combine the meaning of words (instructions) into the meaning of life^H^H^H^H it all (what the program does). It doesn't pay to hammer in "42" if they don't know the question. Just give them exampels, have them work with it, and then they see the light, and the can reverse the process; Going from meaning to syntax. If they want to know the answer to soon, they are not going to like it. And you need that motivation! Have them program 'life' than the 'universe' and after than you make them believe the can do 'everything.' Keep um coding! The semantics is the answer, the sintax the question.
if e-bay, Amazon, and other e-tailers are transfering those taxes to the propper EU countries? How?
...the way to do it is this: you put ROT 13 on them, then bust the MPA for a DMCA violation when they come after you.
I don't see how this could be rated as a trol...
I think it is funny!
It might even hold up, or would it???

I hope the number of casualties will be minimal.
Though most people in Iraq will welcome
the change, I think...

How does one wirte such a jammer-program?

Should Wernher von Braun be honored like this? I think he was an opportunist, he new what his work was used for by the Germans during WWII.
