At least UPS FedEx and the like to a certain extent vet their employees. I don't want some yahoo at my house delivering my packages, playing catch with them and god know what else (staking out my house - get off my lawn).
Sure we can "leave a bad review" but by then it's too fucking late. And to what end - they get "fired" and I got broken shit - big deal, they just move on to the next Uber job.
With the traditional services, you jack around - like the fedEx monitor delivery guy and get caught, you really get FIRED, and there goes your livelihood.
a) I do care because it's been shown time and time and time again already (via food stamps and EBT fraud) that people dont buy/use what its intended for. How are is the program going to police that? Its a cut check remember? Did you always spend your allowance wisely? It may help a poor soul who's lost a job survive, but there are MILLIONS already on the dole who could care less about spending it correctly.
So if Joe uses his BIC to buy cigs and lottery tickets and not food for his kids or a roof over there head, are we going to turn around and keep giving them even more money/bailouts? I'm mean we cant' just let them starve right? That's why we're here in the first place. And the cycle not only continues but amplifies.
b) The whole point of the BIC is to keep them out of the streets and from starving right? Full circle to argument a) at what point do we cut of the teet and prepare for the outcome (rotting corpses in the streets)
c) Well for BIC I'm forced to pay and dont have a choice but as far as someone else helping them post BIC no issue - but why can't we do that pre BIC?
What happens when joe buys that six pack, cigs, cellphone and god knows what else instead of food water clothing and shelter? Then what? He starves? Well hell yes he should. He didnt even make his on bed, someone else did and he still shit on it. But you know that wont happen... Cause bleeding hearts and all.
If and only if, you could guarantee me that once you cut that check thats it no more and society can stand the stench of thousands and thousands in the gutter, then ok you got a deal.
...if you were someone who spent every day on this earth confined to your wheelchair and spent a significant amount of that time dominated by your demeaning spouse, you'd probably feel the same way.
But for the rest of us, yea, cut off my balls while you're at it.
I imagine some Milton Waddams doppelganger in a basement at IBM headquarters who was the "Lotus 1-2-3 support guy" and finally decided enough was enough
So someone at swa is monitoring @swa mentions in realtime actively looking for disparaging tweets and also with a passenger list AND their twitter handle and when said tweets come in has the authority to hotline a gate to hold a plane based on said tweet alone? i mean how else did this plane not already take off? I just dont get the whole timing - good to know i can ground some random plane in california from my couch in missouri
I realize that it's all marketing hooey, but I wish that the director of network engineering for google wouldn't mish mash terminology like that. Keep that for the marketing droids.
You know those table top game machines you see in bars, one I guess had some type of issue because it would boot up into the game but a couple minutes later would reboot and you'd see the familiar boot sequence scroll thru, don't know what distribution it was because I never went up close to look but you knew it was some type of linux from afar

Does Montana still have no speed limit during the day?
In the so called luxary hotels Ive been in where they charge for WiFi theres a pretty good chance they have a real live active *gasp* ethernet port that can be used free of charge. Also good to carry a patch cable in the laptop bag.
Piggybacking that to the tablet is an exercise for the reader.
Exactly how many times would this be useful beyond the inital wow phase?
When I think of panoramic pictures, I think of outdoor shots of mountain-scapes, beach scenes or sporting events and the like. Not exactly a lot of level smooth surfaces around those areas.
Panoramic shots I've seen of indoor scenes tend to be full of the back of people in crowded spaces in which case the traditional gather round into a tight area for a photo op is preferred.
Still trying to figure out what the market is.
Small and more mobile you have a iphone or ipod.
Larger and more functional you have the regular sized ipad.
Exactly what niche (or is that the point) is this serving?
My family has a Nook glow light version and we absolutely love it. The e-ink IMHO makes a world of difference when READING BOOKS. We also like the Barnes and Noble method of purchasing and lending books.
Having said that I don't know why they would want to try to complete with the other tablets already on the market where you can get the B&N app.

I thought orbiting a star was one of the criteria for an object to be called a planet.

Who's this we you refer to?
Hopefully this can scale to include the other branches....I'd hate to think of all the duplicate systems amongst all 4 services.

Cause the last time I checked I can use those to get to amazon.com just as well.
