yes, i was part of the invading army. i wonder how many of the people i met while i was there "oppressing" wish me and my invading "evil" army buddies where still there. we didn't run around cutting heads off left and right like ISIS is doing there now.
time to un-wad your panties, pull them up, move out into the real world and use the brain God gave you. unless you are literally part of the Islamic jihad, the always scary "They" really do want to kill YOU. your mom may want to hear all about your feelings and tell you how good and smart you sound. but you don't have a clue how the real world is. people like you are standing in the way of protecting millions of people in the middle east. people like you are allowing, by inaction and all around tom foolery, ISIS to run rampant unchecked.
until you grow a pair and actually fight, don't lecture those who do on how they do it. you have the luxury of living in peace, only because others keep you.
when I was deployed to Iraq, we had a problem with RKG3 attacks on our MRAPS. at the time, it was one of the few things that could do real damage. RKG3 are hand thrown EFP devices. when the insurgents would attack, they would target the vehicles that had crew serve weapons pointing in the other direction. this would mean that the crew member on the weapon would not always see who threw the grenade. the lead and follow vehicle gunners would have their own fields of fire to scan and would probably miss the thrower as well. leading to confusion as to who is attacking. confusion, explosions == bad things.
an automated system that scans 360 degrees hundreds if not thousands of times a second, which can acquire, track and if need be eliminate the target, would surely cut down on collateral damage and innocent people getting killed.
i think you are over glamorizing ma bell and not remembering clearly. there was almost zero innovation in the phone world while ma bell had everything. with the exception of the movement from rotary dial to touch tone dial... i can't think of anything.
the HBO deal, is the death of cable tv companies as we know it. they may even know it. this is really huge and a big win for everyone. no government imposed fake, net "neutrality" needed, the quasi free market working it out.
when the consumer can pick and choose the channels they really want to watch, and only pay for those, you win and the producers of real content win.
I wonder if this deal was in the works when Steve Jobs was still around, because if so, he really did revolutionize tv as we know it in the late 20th and early 21st century.
those of you not understanding the significance of this deal, you will in a few years. wait for it...
use your brain and think for once. you people who require government to hold your hand for everything thing are really starting to endanger the rest of us.
rules by definition make things less neutral and less free.
now, i'm pretty sure you broke some of your moms rules by using the computer before you did your chores, so let the rest of us free people, go back having a conversation about the rule of law and you nanny staters heaping more government chains on us.
they also can't write law... but we have this new power grab aimed at controlling something that doesn't need to be controlled. under the guise of keeping things free and open. you don't make things free and open by regulating and mandating. freedom works it all out on its own.
wait for it. it may come to that. it's a logical extension of current trends. when those with money and skills exit faster then the flood of unskilled government benefit seekers. we can't very well have all the greedy producers abandon all the needy voters.
how come it's always human ancestors we find and never ape or some other primates ancestors?
this fact alone strikes me as funny. and not funny ha ha, funny.
you'd think that just once, somebody would stumble upon one by mistake if nothing else. guess there is no money/glory in that so they're all ancestors to man.
i thought it went without saying, but judging from some of the replies to my comment, i guess common sense is dead.
with free will, comes responsibility. we are responsible for our choices, not the government, not my neighbors. me, myself, I... those of you that want to take care of people who make bad choices are ridiculous. yes, worthy or ridicule. where does it stop? where is the line drawn? we are not property of the state and are thus not their responsibility.
smokers are free to smoke, and they are free to take care of their own damn medical bills. this is why "free" "government" health care is so evil, it makes you the property of others.
yikes! tell me who exactly passed "net neutrality"? i believe a very small group of APPOINTED bureaucrats, imposed their agenda with ZERO congressional oversight. they wouldn't even give congress(who is our elected law makers) a copy of what they planned on imposing.
i fail to see how this is "passing" anything. this is more along the lines of a executive decree, subject to the whims of whoever is in control at the time.
gay marriage, is overwhelmingly voted down in most states where it comes up to a vote or addressed by its elected officials. there again, a very small group of appointed judges(better then the bureaucrats from the first case, but unelected none the less) decreeing against the will of the people.
what good is passing anti-corruption laws, when they ignore the law? what makes one more followable then another?
the government breaks your leg, and makes you pay for the government provided(free) crutch.
while deployed in Afghanistan, we used to joke that the Army's most reliable form of communication was Facebook. we only half joked. it was the one way we knew we could contact other people in theater reliably.
you beat me to it. this was the very first thing i thought of as well. while convenient, as it would make carrying a wallet unnecessary, it's a huge trap. you can't complain the cops have your phone, if you hand it to them. not to mention the camera you're probably using to document the stop is under their control.
"This expansion comes under a president who campaigned for 'a nuclear-free world' and made disarmament a main goal of American defense policy."
you missed the part where he's a pathological lier. The only thing he's done that he promised was to fundamentally change this country. mission accomplished.
you end up with "established science" that claims, if we don't give all our money and lower our standard of living, and force third world countries to continue to wallow in poverty and filth, the world is going to end.
if you dare to disagree, you are an unenlightened denier, and hate babies.
tax collectors or their enforcers will eventually show up with guns if you don't pay. the guns imply that force will be used if you don't comply. force == violence. it happens everyday in the United States. just because most people submit when they are arrested, doesn't mean the threat of violence isn't always there.
Murika is conditioning its citizens to fear any and all mention of guns and weapons. none of these types of storys are because of "stupid" administrators and teachers, it's an unspoken, unwritten plan to make all future generations shun weapons and guns.
it's the only way to do away with the pesky notion of personal responsibility and self defense.
an entire generation of children so scared of even talking about guns, will never own a gun let alone vote against anything that bans them.
you actually use Israel as an example? you are proving my point. Israel bends over backwards to warn their enemy, they are going to destroy weapons and facilities used to kill Israelies.
Israelies do not use suicide anything, they don't use human shields and they along with evangelicals do not say convert or die.
having been in the army of the governments they elect and having first hand interaction with the muslims in occupied countries. there is zero intention or incentive for them to convert.
"How is that any different from, say, evangelical christians? Stop exporting your own brand of religious evil before you start casting stones on other people."
last i checked, evangelical's are not conducting suicide attacks and using children as human shields in order to convert people to their side.
until you and your kind can see the huge differences between peaceful religions who have reformed and can play well with others, and the religions who say convert or die, we will continue to have needless death at the hands of these extremists.
the US did not create Al Quaeda, stop repeating that lie.
I do not think you realize how difficult it is to train third world people to use state of the art military equipment.
been there done that. not even something worth doing. i give you the current state of Iraq as an example of 10 years of training flushed down the drain.
besides these weapons should be fairly easy to neutralize by any reasonably modern military.
the failure of existing regulatory agencies, should not be a call for more regulatory agencies. it should be a call to defund the current ones that are failing at their appointed tasks.
The solution to your problems and wrongs is not to take it out on others or to create even bigger more inefficient uncaring government programs. government programs do not help, they enslave. they trap its users in the machine.
PS. nice try, but alas just more progressive class/race/gender warfare designed to divide and empower bigger government.
Err, no. there is NO place to fill out SS on a 1099 ayment. That is precisely where you have and use your TIN (Tax Identification Number), You only give your SS on your Personal tax forms at EOY in that situation.
No, there is no valid reason a Physician should be giving out his personal SS for a business transaction, especially if it is a 1099 and NOT a W2 type form. Taxes are NOT taken out of 1099æ.you are responsible for that on your own at EOY.
when receiving 1099 income, the issuer of the pay, is supposed to report that income to the IRS. how are they supposed to report it without a SSN or TIN? which is why people who get paid via 1099 usually have to fill out a W-9. which does take a SSN or TIN. your choice.
the IRS will default people to a sole proprietor status when they do not incorporate. it is perfectly legit to use your SSN for business purposes.
remember the tax system is set up so that there is no right answer 100% of the time. this is to ensure they can always stick it to you when they need to and that nobody ever really knows what's going on and lives in constant fear of being caught.
"3. You are too honest to invent a church just to cheat someone out of health care"
people not wanting to pay for someone else's health care is != to "just to cheat someone out of health care". when did it become acceptable to enslave people to the needs of others? i don't want to be beholden to your needs. i'm a free man and would like to just be left alone to live my life to the best of my ability. if you need help, ask nicely for it. stop using force to extract it from me at gun point. no matter how you spin it, you are forcing me to take care of your needs.

not too far fetched.

he who pays, decides.
if it 's bad for the companies to profit off a legal product, it's just as bad for the government to profit off it.
the biggest profiteer from cigarettes is the government.
we have free will.
end of story, stop demonizing legal business.

if it's not because of MAN, then it's not real science and these religious zealots should be dismembered.
heretics.
