I'm the same way... always catching stuff that is falling toward certain doom; mostly my PDA. But, I don't juggle anything except bills. I have just played a lot of video games.
If we blow our collective tops about this, what do you think that will accomplish? I seriously doubt it'll encourage them to develop for Linux when they are planning the next game.
I hope they have learned a lot from this and will realise that the proper way to go about multi-platform support is to do so from the beginning.
As players find new ways to escape, the administration can fix them in the real prison, then release a patch fixing it in the game as well..;)
I was hoping this would be one of the goals of the project, but after reading the article I have concluded it was not. Perhaps the funding organization has that hope, but apparently not the developers.

The problem is all of the people who want to acquire copyrighted material without paying for it.
If a person wouldn't dare walk into a car dealership, grab a set of keys and drive off with a car without paying for it, why do they think they can do essentially the same thing with copyrighted works via the Internet?
IANAL. I seriously suggest you talk to a lawyer about this to determine the statute of limitations on such a case. If it were me, I'd probably wait until close to the statue of limitations to see if my tongue returns to normal, but if not, then I'd develop my case.
Too bad I already spent all my mod points today... If I had any left I'd mod this up if only for the fact that you included a link to a helluva dump truck. Also, you have a very good and appropriate point.
You obviously didn't read his question closely either because he said they are mostly concerned with performing these updates on Windows 98.
From the article:
Host Guest_Jerry_MS Q: Guest_ Viper : Am I correct to assume that the MBSA is designed for 2000/XP OS? It did not come up with much information or problems with Win 98/ME systems that we have on our network. I know for a fact that 98 isn't that secure What is up with this?
Host Guest_rick_MS A: Supported platforms: Windows NT 4.0 SP4 and above, Windows 2000, or Windows XP. MBSA does not scan win98/ME systems.
Sounds like a pretty good idea to me... I've got a Visor that I'm not using. It even has a wall-plug power supply. If the Drexler's want to pursue this route, I'll donate the equipment and some of my time toward programming the application. I'll email them.
This seems like the most logical/likely to succeed of all suggestions so far. The system could also easily be setup to recognize the sound of a fire alarm. Even the lamest voice recognition systems can understand "Open" or possibly "Open Front Door".
I'm getting it for Christmas (My Mom ordered it for me from Amaz[ingly slow to deliver]on.com) and this review assures me that it's just what I want.
I've been using Red Hat exclusively since 7.1 and have learned plenty of tidbits here and there, but I still lack a full understanding of certain topics. It appears that those topics are the ones covered toward the back of this book.
The other thing that I'm excited about is that this book sounds like something my wife can read and get something out of. She is mildly technical and might like to know more about the OS she uses (Yes, she prefers Linux to Windows, but still has to reboot once a week to run some proprietary business software).
Hey, I think I'll even ask Chris to autograph it! He's a member of my LUG and a really nice guy.
I'm happy to support him with my Mom's money.;-P
In fact this would likely lend more credibility to a creation theory than an evolution theory because it would show that a creator simply stuck with a good pattern.
Is it not true when writing code that one typically draws from past experience and often even ressurects code previously used in a successful implementation?
Does anyone know why we continue to support Israel?
I think it probably has something to do with this:
Deuteronomy 7:6-10
6 For you are a holy people to Yahweh your God: Yahweh your God has chosen you to be a people for his own possession, above all peoples who are on the face of the earth.
7 Yahweh didn't set his love on you, nor choose you, because you were more in number than any people; for you were the fewest of all peoples:
8 but because Yahweh loves you, and because he would keep the oath which he swore to your fathers, has Yahweh brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.
9 Know therefore that Yahweh your God, he is God, the faithful God, who keeps covenant and loving kindness with them who love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations,
10 and repays those who hate him to their face, to destroy them: he will not be slack to him who hates him, he will repay him to his face.
Obviously we are a God-fearing nation... Or at least our leaders are.
This will probably get moderated down, but I don't care, it's a valid question with a valid answer.
"We partied so hard and were passed out so long that now we have to cram 27 hours of programming into the last 24 hours that we have to complete this project... Since we're already screwed, let's ask Slashdot what we should do!"
But, I do really like the suggestions about sending them back their own postage paid envelope with sections of my old phone books stuffed inside of it... <evil laugh>

Ha! This is perfect!!
I'm making the switch just so that my friends can't use my computer when they come over!

Think about it.
I was just at ATI's driver site Sunday (well, and Saturday, and Friday, and Thursday...) looking for a driver supporting X 4.3.
Vendetta looks a lot better with the ATI binary driver and maybe Racer will crash less with it.
So then it should provide enough power to run the display's white LED backlight(s) for the few seconds that it's on each time, right?

First of all he said 23 years ago, which would be 1980 or more likely 1979 (since today is only the 11th day of the year).
Second, he's friends with gandalf_grey (93942), who is also a fan of his; so this Pig Hogger dude has got to be fairly up in years.
;-P
I would think that would depend on how portable you wrote it.
Either way, it shouldn't be too difficult.

I highly recommend trueSpace (any version) from Caligari.
They've got a few Holiday Specials (for 3 more days), one of which is trueSpace4 for $99!
Another application that I recommend is Blender. It's free and runs on several Operating Systems.

Actually, I was watching something on Animal Planet (I think?) last night that featured the Grasshopper mouse, also known as the Scorpion mouse.
They primarily eat insects, particularly scorpions, and other small rodents, sometimes including each other... That's right... Cannibals.
Here's some links:

They have stuffed a Mini-PC into a VW New Beetle model car...

How you would find them I dunno, really--hang out in newsgroups? Post ads?
You seem to have missed the fact that he posted what amounts to an ad on Slashdot.
In other words:
