Please forgive my ignorance, but I'm a bit confused...
In all this solar flare news, I have read a few times that the severity of the affects our technology experiences is conditional on the orientation of the magnetosphere...
I can't help but wonder: what controls the orientation of this magnetosphere? Is it not the "poles"? Are they not immovable? Is it possible for us to [someday] influence the orientation of the magnetosphere?
I predict Longhorn comes out before Lindows, anyway.
Comes out?? As in out of the closet??
Well, now that you mention it, "Longhorn" does sound like some sort of gay pseudonym...
AFAIK Lindows.com has already released a Linux distribution... I'm not absolutely certain of this (similar to how some are not certain we went to the moon) because I haven't used it myself.
I wasn't aware of this (probably since I'm not old enough), but I was just thinking that there should be a file system with versioning features like CVS, subversion or any WIKI has.
Hired a new CTO advisor guy named Owen with a Military background... He was all about buzzwords and BS. His catch-phrase was something about a bullet-speed train on lazer rails. What a load!
Anyway, within a short time myself and the rest of the software testing department were called into a late Friday afternoon meeting and told that we were all being let go and that we would be escorted downstairs to the door by security and could come back on Monday for any of our personal belongings!!
One current example is Savage from s2games.
They don't offer a downloadable demo.
However, I was able to convince a coworker that we should each buy a copy to play online (we're both getting a bit bored with UT2K3).
Apparently it messed up his sound on WinXP and it wouldn't even run on my Red Hat 9 until a beta patch was issued.
This is a game on store shelves!
Fortunately for s2games we are patient and have agreed to wait for it to get better, but unfortunately for them I have felt compelled to write this.
It could have all been avoided if a demo were available.
Yeah, I have one and it works pretty well with the beta Neurosetta Ogg Vorbis firmware.
At first it locked up frequently, but this was determined to be an issue on files encoded with the pre-1.0 oggenc. I had to re-encode a few CDs, but I did also gain about 50 MB by doing so.
BTW, according to the New Features Schedule the integrated firmware is due by the end of July.
** DISCLAIMER: I don't work for them; I just heard some guys talking about their experiences with it on my LUG'smailing list.

"For current multispectral imagery, please be aware that Landsat 5 TM, EO-1 Advanced Land Imager (ALI), and ASTER may provide useful data alternatives."
Doesn't sound like total gloom and doom to me; but what do I know, I'm no asstronomer...
And, of course, the Gentoo is a breed of penguin, so it's all good.
The last entry on the way back machine doesn't show that TM on the FEDORA Project site.
However, it does appear that they have been using the Fedora name longer than the original Fedora Linux Project, but not longer than Red Hat has been associated with the Fedora.
Well, nothing can beat the guy who played with the scammer by posing as James T. Kirk, including a fake passport!

I'd just like to point out that just because a software is open source doesn't mean that you can't charge money for it.
Last I heard Red Hat was one of many profitable companies who charge money for open source software & services.

The reason why it's continually brought up is that it's a valid point.
Your point is also valid, but it just confirms the ACs point in that the blame shouldn't be thrust entirely on X11's shoulders.
No problem... I got my belongings, and then some!

The Neuros is currently deeply discounted in preparation for the newer models coming out...
The 128MB unit is going for $150, the 20GB model is on sale for $200 and the combo bundle (128MB/20GB, etc.) is currently only $230.
I bought my combo set for $343, and that was after both a $50 sale discount & a $25 Linux user's discount.
I don't mean to sound like a salesman, but this is a great deal!
Since they can't resell the software as new it would be reasonable for retailers to charge a restocking fee, much like hardware vendors do.

Maybe that's why it comes with 8 CDs as well as the DVD?
Would/could DNA Computing be inherently base-4?

Too bad for me that payday is almost two weeks away...

Just imagine, you too could have a Beowulf cluster of X-10 cameras...
