Surely the best yard-stick for what is a Floating point operation is that it has to have a floating point - wheres the (decimal) point in anding two bits together?
Contry to common beleif - Hard drive's arent THAT sensitive to dust, within reason. Aslong as you take reasonable precautions, you can dismantel and reconstruct a harddrive in normal conditions.
If you do this, though, always badblock it completely before you put anything on it you dont want to loose.
I'm not diagreeing with that - just that it made him think, and then broadcast his ideas. Generally people don't think for themselves when someone else has already renderred and published a solution.
It's supposed to make individuals think. Without the space it's just an optical illusion. Whats next, threories explaining Mona Lisa using computers? Morphing?
What?! They've already done that. Well, fuck it, I'll go back to coding...
There seem to be a lot of articles at the moment about people installing linux on (almost) normal hardware - whats the point? Is there really anyone reading/. who couldn't do this themselves?
It's interesting, just a shame it's utter bollocks. Which symetric algorithm? How could you have such a simple expression of compexity relation between two completely different (unspecified) functions?

Whats the problem? It comes with a network adapter, and I'm guessing everyone posting here has a PC with a network adapter. Total outlay = 50pence for a X-over cable....
Why the fsck was this modded down? It's a ligitimate question, and the most sensible/useful I've read on this thread so far? Do the modders even read posts any more, or are they too far up their own arses?
Slashdot often quote the article. Read the article, and you might find out.

No, but I bet it costs more than a vanilla dual 2100+. Besides - I wasn't bitching about anyone, just stating an alternate point of veiw.

A case is just a case. I'd rather double the CPU speed/RAM and house a PC in a shoebox than have a P100 in a five hundred pound case :p
It's still far more fun (for now) to play other people online - try your hand at http://kgs.kiseido.com/

Hey. That guys right - quick, everyone, stop sharing.

Heh, the best part is that your comment is still at 0, and my responce got modded down to -1, as flamebait. Such is the stupidly backward world of /.
First troll with a !-1 score, well done you racist fuckwit.
Yeah, it could be done now, but you'd end up with a pretty useless CD - the point is that this graphical information goes in UNUSED space...

Oh wait, it already is
How the fsck did they arrive at 24,973? Who are the 27 awkward bastards who stop it being 25k? Any why not approximate anyway?

Do either of you even know what an algorythm is?

Feel like joining me on a FreeDiablo project? :)
It's still crap. And americans watch a lot of crap. I can see where he was coming from.
Those are the first two big questions about /. posting : shortly to be followed by "Is there any sence/reasoning behind how things are rated?"
It's a step closer to the great convergence, when the world will end.
