In the UK. Over the air (OTA) HD broadcasts aren't happening, and aren't likely to happen any time soon as there isn't enough room on the broadcast platform at the moment.
In the UK. the ONLY way to get HD is through Satellite (SKY) and probably soon via Cable (Virgin Media) (if it isn't already)
I live in Wales (for the Americans out there: Wales a seperate country that is part of the UK- where Tom Jones and Kathryn Zeta Jones come from!!!)
anyway, I NEED to be able write documents in both languages, British English and Welsh (CY). Never been a problem in M$ office. HIghlight some text and select the lanuage from the drop down. spell Check works in both languages.
Never been able to do this in OOo... language seems defined on a per document basis.
Surely I can't be the only person in the world who writes documents in two languages at once?
glad it's not just me then.
tried not installing bonjour, tried installing bonjour, tried installing apple updater server, tried NOT installing it. The results the same
Error with installation 2738 or something... quality!!!!!
But i'm sure it's installed something, somewhere... now if I can only find out what junk it's installed.!!!!!!
God creates Adam and Eve, they bonk/shag/copulate/etc and out pops Cain and Able.. 2 Sons (that's problem no 1 for me!) Cain kills Able
so we're left with two guys and one woman: Adam, Cain and Eve...
What the fuck happens now?
According to the museum..."thus close relatives could marry, and provided it was one man for one woman" but that clearly isn't what happened here is it? 2 guys 1 girl... massive big fuck up (pun intended)
maybe back in them olden days it was ok to have a 3-way as well.
Movie studios are missing the point. DVD sales are slowing/stagnating not because their back catalogue has been released (it hasn't I'm sure) but by the overall PITA that is DVD viewing. Find DVD on shelf amongsth the 1000s of others Open box, fiddle with little plastic thingy that keeps disc secure Insert DVD -> wait for drive to spin up -> Wait for the DRM Copyright notice to go away (PITA) -> Watch Disc manufacturers logo -> (optionally sit through dozens of equally annoying, piss adverts or trailers that you can't skip) Wait for piss poor "animated menus" to appear-> Press the button you want-> Watch equally pointless animated menu -> Watch starting logo: Universal, fox, dreamworks etc. Yawn ->
Watch film, then put back in box and re-file.
Forget about the 2 or 3 other discs in the pack that give you tonnes of extras you'll never watch - forget about the DVD commentary (for all but you most treasured films) - Forget about the "great" interactive games included on the disc.
When will companies learn: people just want to watch the fucking film.
i AM a hypnotherapist (and psychotherapist actually also)
but it's not my ONLY job.
Before I became a therapist I worked full time in the computer industry.. Now I work part time (or full time on contract) for a multimedia company.
I do Flash, photoshop, Director, web design, web programming etc
(I should say, I'd prefer to be a full time therapist, but the computer stuff pays the bills, pays for additional training - of which there is always loads, and keeps me busy when clients are slow)
I've spent some time with the new PS3 (via work) and I have to say they'll be really disappointed.. Vastly overpriced, really buggy software (OS is flaky, real flaky) and the games (i've played) aren't much better!!!, poor build quality (drive access fails, disc fails to spin, connectors loose at the rear), poor controller, etc.
They'll have the same games they bought before on their ps2, just much more expensive this time around.. Games WILL look great (as long as they have HDTVs) but, in all honesty I think it's going to crucify Sony... it's just such a pile of crap you wouldn't believe.. NO really, it just doesn't work the way you'd expect/want and when you factor in that SONY made it, not some junky two bit chinese company you've never heard of.. it's just shocking.
it's wonderfully marketed as "unlimited" but comes with a sneaky fair use policy that effectively caps you to 2gb per month...
let me find my dictionary definition of unlimited....!

nuisance!
it wasn't a Phd, but it was about 200-odd pages I edited in Kword - however this was Kword 1.3- i think..
It was superb, dare I even say enjoyable. It exported to pdf without problem (although some people with acrobat 4 found that text looked blurred - too much anti-aliasing perhaps) but it looked great in Acrobat 5 and 6.
Printed well, without problem, re-edited well.
If I still had a linux partition I'd be using it today (gave up with linux ages ago). I'm very looking forward to the native windows version sometime. Kword is a joy to use - small, fast, easy to understand and use. Looks nice and just works.

what an utter pile of shite. If this was just one guy on his own, building his own search engine, i could forgive it, but this is supposedly one of the biggest companies on the planet. Just utter utter bilge
I'm lucky enough to have broadband... a pitiful 512kbps mind you. But many people simply don't, or can't get broadband.
I'm sure online play is great for xbox owners, but I'd rather just play a great game either on my own or with some friends (in the same room), with some wine/beer and a have a laugh.
Hear hear...
have you seen his website... designed by blind donkey. http://www.useit.com/http://www.useit.com
Hardly a good model for usable, effective web design.. But a shining example of the "usability" of the internet circa 1996
why did you have to qualify that with the word "black" I don't care if Condi, is black, white, blue or beige, nor should it matter to you or anyone else. SO you should have just said "....is one of the most intelligent people in the USA"
Glad I don't live in the USA though, it strikes me as the most racist country in the Western World.
subbing is definately for woosies, or Americans... Perfect example is the legendary Anime Classic Akira. when subbed the dialogue isn't jsut a little different its' totally and utter different. Good quality subtitles are the way to go.

I thought it was just me that hated that putrid excuse for a font... you mean there are others out there who share my hatred? I'm not alone... OMG.
I refuse to answer emails sent in CS font.. I HATE posters and fliers with it. It's just god awful in every way known to man...
I second that request. please please kill comic sans font. It's a mercy killing!
so there's really no truth to the rumour of Google launching an office app... none whatsoever...!!!!???

of just boot to linux and scare them with the CLI
well there was the pace Twin - a while back. dual freeview receiver and hard disc.
(crap apparently)
but dont' most dvd recorders have hd recorders in them already, so can pause live tv, watch and record at the same time etc?
Personally since getting my SKY+ I've taken the VCR away... never actually feel the need to record on other media.
