    In the UK. Over the air (OTA) HD broadcasts aren't happening, and aren't likely to happen any time soon as there isn't enough room on the broadcast platform at the moment. In the UK. the ONLY way to get HD is through Satellite (SKY) and probably soon via Cable (Virgin Media) (if it isn't already)

    Never been able to do this in OOo... language seems defined on a per document basis.

    Surely I can't be the only person in the world who writes documents in two languages at once?

    Cain kills Able

    so we're left with two guys and one woman: Adam, Cain and Eve...

    What the fuck happens now?

    According to the museum ..."thus close relatives could marry, and provided it was one man for one woman"
    but that clearly isn't what happened here is it? 2 guys 1 girl... massive big fuck up (pun intended)

  5. missing the point on Vudu Set-Top Box Weds Legal P2P and HD Movies · · Score: 2, Interesting

    Movie studios are missing the point. DVD sales are slowing/stagnating not because their back catalogue has been released (it hasn't I'm sure) but by the overall PITA that is DVD viewing.
    Find DVD on shelf amongsth the 1000s of others
    Open box, fiddle with little plastic thingy that keeps disc secure
    Insert DVD -> wait for drive to spin up ->
    Wait for the DRM Copyright notice to go away (PITA) ->
    Watch Disc manufacturers logo ->
    (optionally sit through dozens of equally annoying, piss adverts or trailers that you can't skip)
    Wait for piss poor "animated menus" to appear->
    Press the button you want->
    Watch equally pointless animated menu ->
    Watch starting logo: Universal, fox, dreamworks etc. Yawn ->

    Watch film, then put back in box and re-file.

    Forget about the 2 or 3 other discs in the pack that give you tonnes of extras you'll never watch - forget about the DVD commentary (for all but you most treasured films) - Forget about the "great" interactive games included on the disc.

    When will companies learn: people just want to watch the fucking film.

I do Flash, photoshop, Director, web design, web programming etc (I should say, I'd prefer to be a full time therapist, but the computer stuff pays the bills, pays for additional training - of which there is always loads, and keeps me busy when clients are slow)

    I've spent some time with the new PS3 (via work) and I have to say they'll be really disappointed.. Vastly overpriced, really buggy software (OS is flaky, real flaky) and the games (i've played) aren't much better!!!, poor build quality (drive access fails, disc fails to spin, connectors loose at the rear), poor controller, etc.

    They'll have the same games they bought before on their ps2, just much more expensive this time around.. Games WILL look great (as long as they have HDTVs) but, in all honesty I think it's going to crucify Sony... it's just such a pile of crap you wouldn't believe.. NO really, it just doesn't work the way you'd expect/want and when you factor in that SONY made it, not some junky two bit chinese company you've never heard of.. it's just shocking.

    it's just so disappointing you won't believe it.

    Printed well, without problem, re-edited well.

    If I still had a linux partition I'd be using it today (gave up with linux ages ago). I'm very looking forward to the native windows version sometime. Kword is a joy to use - small, fast, easy to understand and use. Looks nice and just works.
