At least it's not completely closed source. Don't mock free, the alternative is NOT free.

  4. Re:Defeat page widening on Big Changes In Proposed U.S. Space Budget · · Score: -1

It is, because an AC did it. And an AC isnt in your foe list, so he too gets bumped up to 0. But since most page widening posts Cmdertaco does under a logged in name, it works. If he starts posting as an AC, he risks the -1 temp ban. If he has multiple ip's to get around that, I'll start modding down AC's. Mark AC's -1. After all, I'd rather see logged in troll goodness than AC crap.

It can, and it does. I'm using it right now. Going back to Cmdertaco infected posts, HIS is the only one marked -1. It works.

the +1 to long comments automatically upgrades ALL comments longer than 1 character to +1, so -1 becomes 0. Then foes are downgraded to -1. Threshold at 0, and you dont see foes.

Change your preferences to +1 for long comments, -1 for foes, mark Cmdertaco and his ilk as foes, and set your reading threshold to 0. It works!

It's already here. Unfortunately, page widening is destroying the intelligent/creative troll with nothing to gain. It might be different if slashdot readers were forced to see the page widening, but they aren't. Theyve all moved to 0 thresholds. I'm even considering moving to a 0 threshold myself and karma whoring. I'd add to that the phrase "until page widening is fixed" but it will never be fixed. There is no reason for the slashdot crew to fix something that gets rid of trolls.
