    Nah, Bush is too high strung to do that. In his eyes it would be a sign of weakness to give into the public's demand for him to step down. It would be like him "cutting and running" out of Iraq when everyone in the US started complaining telling him to come up with a new plan, his response is of course, no stay the course, that's how you win!

    Eitherway, this had to happen though and probably would have happened if the Democrats hadn't won the house.

    which is easier?

    a) formatting a few hundred memory cards with 'your' version of the voting machine software..

    b) destroying hundreds of thousands of ballots and replacing them with 'your' new ballots..

    Let's see the two options:

    A) Keep selling windows making money, while pirates don't pay and use they products; net gain: some sales.

    B) Pull out and stop selling products, while pirates continue to pirate; net gain: loss of all sales.

    I live in Quebec, we pay about $0.04/kWh ... that doesn't come out to $20/month..

    I had 5 computers running for 8 months and my bill (including everything else in the apt) was $200.

    Most people who would be using this would be 20 to 40 years old.. if there are long term side effects that turn out to be infertility... wont it happen so late in your life that it wouldn't really matter anyway.. ?

    Uhh, this doesn't include plausible deniability.. if they _know_ the info is encrypted then they'll just make the judge tell you to give them the password.

    you're much better off using something that cannot be identified as being encrypted.

    I voted in the last federal elections and used paper ballots here in Quebec, they gave me a big permanent marker and told me to put an X in the circle next to the name of the guy i wanted to vote for..

    why isn't this used everywhere? is it so damn hard for each polling station to have people count a couple thousand ballots that they HAVE to use computers? Have to have stupid ballots where you punch holes in them causing other stupid problems etc...

    Wanna fix the voting problems?

    -Give out big markers
    -Peice of paper with names on it
    -Tell people to put an X on the paper

    problem solved. no more bad ballots or cheating (provided the polling stations have people from all parties counting)..
